The instrument was Yaybahar.
Invented in 2014, by Turkish musician Görkem Şen. A string instrument with long metal springs to transmit vibrations to drum membranes, creating a deep natural reverb without electronics.
CLUE No#1:
This instrument was invented recently, but its reverb is completely analog.
not that recent, think a little over a decade.
That guitar is really dope thought.

oh no, I dont really play anything (though i wish I did)... I just run into unique sounding music more often than most hehe.

Can't say I feel any urgency listening to his music (in this particular album). It's rather playful and relaxing has a kind of childhood quality about it.
But I do get the aspect of raising awareness of ocean life.
just listened to his newer stuff, Eye to Ear - definitely like... lightly reminds me of Alt-J, but more relaxed.

yep, this is a tough one. But stick around - the clues might help hone in on it. And just to assure you - all the sounds that you hear in this instrument are played on it - no ensemble.
