FOODlog #1425: Shilin Taiwan Street Snack

in Ecency5 days ago

Still one of the best places to go to whenever I'm craving for oyster meesuah or fried chicken. It's got to be Shilin Taiwan Street Snacks. A brand that has been in Malaysia for over 20 years. Consistently tasting the same for this long is a real hard feat to do which is why they've been around for so long.

Used to be a place I go to when I was dating with my wife before we got married. So every now and then we will want to go back to get a meal there together.

Ordered their oyster mee suah which was delicious as usual. Oysters were fresh and plump, simple shredded chicken with a generous portion as always, fresh coriander, and chili paste to spice things up. Each spoonful full of good nostalgia.

Of course I needed to get their XXL fried chicken as well. Bone in chicken breast that's been flatten and deep fried to golden crispy perfection, topped with their magic dust that makes ever bite so addictive and satisfying.

My wife ordered her favorite tempura which is like a keropok lekor but with their own seasoning. It's chewy and a really nice snack that we always enjoy.

Super stuffed and a really satisfying meal!

Wow for a brand that has been since 20 years and still never change their food taste. That's a good place to eat then
