I think we have enough voices and eyeballs on Snaps for it to gain some real upward momentum with rewards, we just need to get people handing out low percentage votes as if it were just a 'like' button.
That's true although the big whales from Hive don't seem engaging on short form content. I think we can do so much better.

Sounds like one of the aims of the hard fork was to discourage short content then..
It's how people behave, not about the code, though. I prefer long content myself.
I mean the code does not code itself, people code it to do a certain thing. Yes on Hive I prefer long content too.
The code doesn't make you upvote certain content. It's up to you and your preferences.
Yes I upvote what I think merits it, irrespective of the code pre or post hf.
I have my vote% set really low (<5%) for short content votes, so I can just use my vote as a 'like' on short form posts, and not worry too much about running out of VP.
I think if more people did this, we would see more rewards on short form posts.
We would not - many votes would go in vain then for the comments would likely not surpass the dust threshold.
Just because a reward doesn't get paid doesn't mean that a vote was in vain, and if EVERYONE using Snaps was doing this, worthy content would quickly come over the threshold.
Very few comments (or Snaps, for that matter) are worth a reward.

hello Flummi... HEIC files are commonly used by Apple devices, such as iPhones running iOS 11 or later, where they serve as the default image format.
Fun fact, HEIC images are not browser compatible.
We are going to release very soon a new version of Snapie with an auto image converter to ensure 100% compatibility - Direct Video Uploads and Audio Snaps.

There are two routes to take, one suggested by Rishi to make an auto converter on the image hosting server. Or, make Snapie auto convert HEIC images prior to uploading.

Have you considered just making it a PWA to avoid the delays in getting listed? Unless you spend a fortune, there isn't any real exposure on IOS/Google market places.

After the downpour of yesterday, the sun has started from where it stopped.

Currently i'm making a replay of the hive blockchain on my raspberry pi 5 and it's already running over 22hrs and only got at block height 20,090,000. I think it's makes no sense to let it run further cause i need to catch up to 101,401,366. Ideas? @forkyishere
You can use a snapshot and revive a node in a few hours...
Go into another Hived node, snapshot dump. Move the snapshot into another machine...
Restore it!
I did a full replay from an 8-core ARM processor, but I had 5x SSDs connected to it.
Thanks! Currently i dont know how to use the snapshot feature - more or less where to get it - or how to create my own and replay with it. We'll i guess give it a try once more during the day.

For both situations, if you add --exit-before-sync, it will exit after finishing creating/loading the snapshot...

I think the recommendation is to use a snapshot and someone may make that available to download. I'll be interesting in how well a Pi can run Hive. Will it be a witness? How much storage does it have?
Yea, i think so aswell it's recommended - i was just giving a try to run it from block 1 to latest but, that just takes days. I think it's just needs very less storage if you have the option block-log-split to 0 or just 1 to just keep the latest state availabe - witness only.
We need a simple guide on how to do it all, so maybe you can make something from your experience. Someone suggested it's better to just get a mini PC that will much more powerful, but a Pi should use less power.

Thank you. Yes, I enjoy traveling, nature and photography. I am lucky to have a good friend in South Africa and we oftem move from there to southern africa.
And South Africa is where the best safaris are made for photographing wildlife.
My favorite countries for animals are Zimbabwe and Zambia because is a mix of nice and quiet parcs. Tanzania, Kanya, Botswana and now Namibia have very nice places but there are much more people.
Yeah, they've had that previously too. It wasn't very easy before though.
