One of the things we love to eat when we are in Japan is Mister Donuts. They have the best donuts in my opinion. Every winter, Mister Donut launches a Pokémon Christmas Collection, and honestly, it’s one of the cutest seasonal donuts you'll find anywhere in Japan. Featured Donuts includes the Pikachu & Diglett Donut.
The Pikachu donut is a whipped cream-filled donut coated with caramel custard-flavored chocolate, detailed with Pikachu's face. Sweet, slightly salty, and our kids love it. The diglett donut was introduced last Christmas (2024) with Diglett popping up from the middle of a the Mister Donut famous Pon de Ring base donut.
Another thing people may not not about Mister Donuts is they offer an all you can eat buffet option. At participating locations, you can pay a flat fee and eat as many donuts and have as many drinks as you like for 60 minutes. The buffet selection normally covers the full menu, meaning you can mix and match everything the donuts sweet and savory. Drinks include coffee, tea, juice, and sometimes special limited beverages too. Not all Mister Donuts have this so check beforehand before going there for a buffet. We only saw this at the countryside once on our trip so far.
