Egg Martabak Spring Roll Skin

Martabak is one of my go-to dishes when I need something filling to eat when I'm hungry. Martabak is very popular in Indonesia and is one of the traditional dishes. Martabak itself comes in a variety of flavors, from savory to sweet. This time, I'm going to make a savory martabak with a spicy and savory twist.

The martabak I'm making is egg-based with spring roll wrappers. The original recipe for egg martabak usually uses special flour. Since the process takes time, I tried making an egg martabak version with spring roll wrappers. The process is very easy and quick, and I'm sure anyone will love it.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for making egg martabak.




Ingredients

2 chicken eggs
1 duck egg
6 spring roll wrappers (adjust as needed)
1 stalk of green onion
1 stalk of celery
2 cloves of shallots
1 clove of garlic
¼ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of mushroom broth
2 lettuce leaves
4 cayenne peppers




Procedure For Making


Beat 3 eggs, then add finely chopped onions (you can also blend them).

Then add chopped vegetables, celery, and chili peppers. Next, add salt and mushroom broth and stir until well mixed.

In a pan, add butter, then arrange the spring roll wrappers on the pan and add the egg mixture.

Then cover the martabak with the wrappers and add more spring roll wrappers until everything is covered. Don't forget to flip it over.

The filling is very beautiful, cooked perfectly and evenly. Here's a tip to make it look beautiful: use low heat when cooking so that it cooks evenly inside. It tastes very delicious, everything tastes perfect, savory and spicy with a crispy spring roll skin on the outside.
