Hello, how are you? Chop Suey is one of the dishes that made me like eating vegetables. That’s how powerful Chop Suey is for me lol.

When I was little, you could never make me eat vegetables. Whenever that happens, my go-to food is Milo and rice, haha, or rice and banana ketchup.

That's how picky I was before, but now that I am a grown-up woman, vegetables are not only healthy but delicious at the same time. Getting old really does change your sense of taste. The taste that you hated before, you now love.

Ingredients I Used:

0.JPG

  • 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Chicken
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic
  • Red Onion
  • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Chicken Broth Cube
  • 1 Sayote
  • 1 Cabbage
  • 1 Carrots
  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • 1 Cauliflower
  • 2 Small Corn
  • 5 String Beans
  • 1 Chinese Cabbage
  • 1 Dash of Ground Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Oyster Sauce

Let's Cook!

In a hot pan, I added one tablespoon of cooking oil.

Chop Suey is the best when paired with chicken, so the meaning I am going to use is to cook it until the browning starts appearing on the chicken.

Then I added the aromatics like garlic and red onion, and sautéed them until the aroma came out.

I added a teaspoon of soy sauce to add color to the food and for taste too.

Then I added two cups of water.

And to make it even more tasty, I am going to add a chicken broth cube. This will make everything taste better.

When the water starts boiling, I am going to add the sayote, bell pepper, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, and baby corn. Let it cook for about two minutes.

After two minutes, I am going to add the string beans and cook them for about 2 minutes again.

After that, I added the Chinese cabbage, cooked it for just one minute because Chinese cabbage cooks faster, so I added it last.

Mix everything.

Then I added a dash of ground pepper.

Then season it again with oyster sauce, I added about a tablespoon only.

Serve, hot and plated.
