Local restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand #28 : A small, simple restaurant with Northern Thai coconut curry noodle (Khao Soi), Chicken rice, Braised pork rib rice and Braised beef rice, Delicious, clean, and cheap.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I want to take you along to a tiny restaurant here in Chiang Mai. It’s one of my little goals to share the food spots in the province where I currently live. But I want to focus on local restaurants that are casual, delicious and inexpensive. This time, let me take you to another great Northern Thai coconut curry noodle soup spot. This is one of the most popular and delicious Northern Thai dishes, loved by locals and tourists alike. Northern Thai coconut curry noodle soup or what Thai people call Khao Soi. Khao Soi is a rich and creamy coconut curry soup served with soft egg noodles and topped with crispy fried noodles, pickled mustard greens and shallot, you can also choose of chicken or beef or pork meatballs.

This restaurant is located next to the police station in Fang District. It’s located in a single-story strip mall with several restaurants, occupying the end unit right next to a rural road. This restaurant is a small restaurant with just five wooden dining tables. It has a simple and unadorned look. Let's start by taking a look at the outdoor atmosphere.

Then let's step inside to see the indoor atmosphere.

My wife and I each ordered a bowl of northern Thai coconut curry noodle soup with chicken (Chicken Khao Soi) on this visit. The restaurant's coconut curry is rich and flavorful, complementing the soft egg noodles beautifully. This dish is garnished with crispy egg noodles and accompanied by a side of pickled mustard greens, shallot and lemon.

In addition, this restaurant also offers chicken rice, braised pork rib rice and braised beef rice. Of course, I couldn't miss the chance to try it, and the flavors were absolutely nice. This time I ordered the braised pork rib rice, garnished with cucumber and coriander, served with a delicious dipping sauce and a small bowl of hot clear soup.

This restaurant offers bottled and canned beverages for sale too, and there is free self-service water, but we prefer the free water.

Although it's not the best restaurant, but the food is delicious, clean, and cheap. If you visit this area and want to eat this type of food, I recommend this restaurant too. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

I do love this dish and as someone who lives in Chiang Mai I find it amazing that it can taste so different from one place to the next even though the dish has the same name. This one is one of my favorites!
