Happy Monday Hivers!
It was a Saturday afternoon when my sister and I started feeling bored at home. We had no plans for the day, so we were just staying at home. Then, all of a sudden, we decided to go to Cebu City for a joy ride.
At that time, both of us were working in Talisay, and since we were living there as well, we rarely went to Cebu City anymore because we’d grown tired of dealing with the heavy traffic.
While we were on our joy ride, we kept thinking about where to eat since we hadn’t had a meal before leaving the house. Then it suddenly hit us, we’d never tried dining at La Vie Parisienne. So we both decided that’s where we’d have our meal.
La Vie Parisienne is located in Lahug, Cebu City. It’s easy to find since it’s situated right along the road. This isn’t actually a new restaurant—if I remember correctly, it’s been around since around 2018. Back then, most of my friends’ and colleagues’ Facebook posts featured this very place.
When I first saw their Facebook posts, I was so eager to visit, but I never really got the chance. Eventually, it faded from my mind. And finally, I set foot here.
When we arrived at the counter, there weren’t many people, so one of their staff was able to attend to us right away. My sister and I don’t eat much, so we decided to just order one pizza, along with a salad and some canned juice.
After placing our order, we headed to the part of the restaurant with a large wine display—a popular spot for taking pictures because it looks so nice. However, there were quite a few people waiting for their turn to take photos, so we decided to come back after our meal, hoping there would be fewer people by then.
My sister and I preferred to dine outside basically, we wanted alfresco dining because we enjoy the natural air more than air-conditioning.
Personally, I enjoy dining outdoors because of the festive atmosphere. The place is adorned with colorful LED lights, which serve as the only source of illumination outside. While it’s not the brightest setting for eating, we didn’t mind at all, it actually added to the charm.
We didn’t have to wait long for our order—it was served right away. But even if it had taken a while, we wouldn’t have minded, since my sister and I were enjoying our conversation. After all, we only get to see each other once a week.
Their food was delicious definitely comparable in taste to other Italian restaurants I’ve tried around Cebu.
We stayed for quite a while after eating because the place was so relaxing. It wasn’t noisy, and it was cool since the tables were set under the trees. At that moment, we weren’t thinking about anything elsewe were just enjoying our conversation, talking about random topics.
Since it was already getting late, we decided to go back to the part of the restaurant with the wine display, hoping there would be no more people—and luckily, we had the place all to ourselves. I wasn’t in the mood to have my photo taken, so I just took pictures of my sister, who really wanted to pose there. After the quick photo session, we headed home.
Overall, the restaurant was truly delightful. The vibe, the food, and the customer service were all great. I can’t blame my friends and colleagues for coming back again and again. How about you? Do you also find yourself enjoying most of the restaurants you’ve dined in?
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
