The hunger alarm is actually scarier than the alarm that rings in the morning. Usually when my cellphone alarm rings and wakes me up in the morning, I can choose between 2 options; turn it off to wake up or continue sleeping. Actually it's really fun to continue sleeping again and I can be late for work. But not like the hunger alarm.

I say it's scary because hunger is very painful, I need to eat and it must be there. If I eat late, what happens is stomach acid rises and hurts my stomach. It can bother me for 2-3 days with its incredible pain. Hunger is really not fun.

Like this time, I was very hungry but was far from home. I went to the Marelan area because I had some work. Exactly at 01.00 pm, I had to eat something and wanted to eat something delicious. I saw a restaurant that sells soto medan.

Surely you will ask, what is soto medan? Well, your curiosity will be answered here. Food that has a distinctive character from the city of Medan where I currently live. Medan City has one unique food, similar to soup but the color is very beautiful, yellow.

Soto Medan is very distinctive with a yellow color that comes from a mixture of spices. The combination makes the color yellow, of course it is turmeric. Turmeric is a special color enhancer for every dish.

At Ridho restaurant, there are soto and soup, they have been selling soto and soup in this place for a very long time. The price is indeed a little pricey but I think it's worth it because the soup from the soto here is thick, then the meat filling is also very much.

I ordered soto medan, the time from ordering to the food arriving was only 5 minutes. Better than fast food restaurants. Soto medan which is filled with cow's beak, this is very rare in restaurants like this. Well, it's best if you add lime juice and chili to adjust the spiciness.

Eat it with a plate of warm rice. You can choose between eating mixed directly with soto or separately. I like to mix it like this because it will add to the delicious taste of the soto sauce mixed with rice. All is good way!

Usually it tastes best when mixed with crackers, but I was full enough to add crackers in the bowl. So it tastes best like this. Especially when I drink it with a glass of cold bitter tea in the hot weather today.

Ridho restaurant is quite famous in this area. It seems to be a favorite restaurant if I want to buy a bowl of thick Medan soto because of its coconut milk! You have to try something interesting in Medan City.

Okay wow, now I’m super hungry! Soto Medan sounds sooo good, especially the way you described it. Thick soup, warm rice, spicy and full of flavor? Yes please! Loved the pics too. Definitely trying this if I ever visit Medan. Thanks for the yummy post!
