Today i would like to share the Kala Chana Curry or Black chickpea Recipe It is gravy-based curry recipe prepared with black chickpeas and indian aromatic dry spices.It is one of the popular north Indian curry recipes paired up with Indian Bread - Roti or Paratha or With stream Rice. There are many ways of making curry but it is easy and quick way of making it. It is healthy and single pot recipe specially for winters. It is common indian same onion and tomato-based gravy where you can add boiled potatoes or Cubes of cottage cheese.

Ingredients📃


For soaking & cooking

• 1 cup kala chana(black chickpea).
• water, for soaking and cooking
• ½ tsp salt.
• Pinch of Baking Soda.

For Making Gravy

• 3 tbsp of Oil.
• 2 Onion.
• 2 Tomato.
• 3-4 cloves of Garlic.
• 2 Inch of Ginger.
• 2 Green Chilli.
• 1 tbsp of cumin seeds.
• Pinch of asafoetida.
• 1 tbsp of Turmeric Powder.
• 1 tbsp of Red Chilli Powder.
• 2 tbsp of coriander Powder.
• 1 tbsp of Garam Masala.
• 1/2 Amchur Powder.
• Salt to taste.
• Green Coriander leaves for Garnish.

firstly, in a large bowl take 1 cup kala chana and rinse well.

soak in enough water for atleast 6-7 hours or overnight.

drain off the water and rinse it again then transfer the kala Chaana to the Pressure cooker.

add salt, pinch of Baking Soda and 3-4 cup water. cover and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles or until the kala Chana is cooked well.

Open the presure cooker, Pour out the Boiled Chana along with it water in a big bowl, Keep it aside.

In the mixer grinder, add the onion, garlic, ginger, green chilli and tomato, Grind it to make smooth paste.

Heat the oil in the pressure Cooker, add the cumin seeds and Asafoetida, wait untill it start sputtering. Lower the flame add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander, saute it untill it get Aromatic.

Now add the onion tomato paste, saute it well.

saute until the oil separates from the sides.now add the salt into it.

also, add cooked kala chana along with water and mash smooth. Mix it well untill everything combined well.

Cover and simmer for 10 mintues or until the flavours are absorbed well. Add the garam masala and Fry mango powder,mix it well.

Garnish it with Fresh Green Coriander leave. Serve the hot kala chana curry. Pair it up with chatpati or Partha or Steam Rice.

Yup we have common spices which gives delicious and Flavours...

Muh me paani aa gya...aajkal mai v Seekh raha hu....just put everything chilpeas and spices in cooker and 5-6 seeti ...it is ready..🫣
