Sweet Soy Sauce Chicken: A Flavor-Packed Weekend Lunch

Learning how to cook was never on my bucket list, as I hated being in the kitchen before. But, when I tried living solo in the city, I needed to survive and save money. To do that, I must learn how to cook meals at home than buying on fast food restaurants.

It all started from simple meals, like frying of chicken, sauteed vegetables, and other easy-to-cook foods. But as weeks and months passed by, I started watching recipe videos and reading cooking blogs to learn more. I put effort in learning how to cook, until I can already satisfy my own cravings through it.

And for today's blog, let me share with you the lunch I prepared for our family last weekend. It was the Sweet Soy Sauce Chicken. Here's the simplified version, perfect to cook at home.

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 1/2 Kilo Chicken Wings
  2. Crispy Fry
  3. Butter
  4. Garlic
  5. Brown Sugar
  6. Soy Sauce

Step 1: Prepare the chicken and marinate for 30 minutes.

Wash the chicken wings, and then start making the marinade. Just simply add half cup of water and mix the crispy fry (garlic flavor). Put the chicken in the mixture, and marinate for 30 minutes. You can set it aside or put it inside the refrigerator.

Step 2: Fry the marinated chicken wings.

After 30 minutes, start frying the chicken wings in medium heat. Put enough oil to cook everything, and make sure to cook the chicken until golden brown. Once the chicken are good to go, set it aside and let it cool down for about 15 minutes.

Step 3: Prepare the sauce and put the chicken in it.

In preparing the sweet soy sauce, I started with putting the butter in the pan until melted. Then, I cooked some garlic before adding the soy sauce, sugar, and a little bit of water. I just stirred them for minutes until I achieved the texture I want. I even tried tasting the sauce, and it was already perfect. Lastly, I put the fried chicken wings and dipped them in the sauce.

After how many minutes of cooking, my simple version of sweet soy sauce chicken was ready to serve. I already asked the kids to make a taste test, and they all loved it. They even requested that I should cook more of this soon. Indeed, it was a very flavorful meal perfect for a weekend lunch. We enjoyed every bite!

Thank you so much!

This looks divine.
My husband and I love chicken wings, and I always make mine with a new spin. I like what I see:)))

My partner and I also love chicken wings. And would love to try other recipes or sauce partnered with it.

Talk about masarap, I love these chicken wings. I can't imagine people not being able to cook. I taught myself from the age of 10, I went to boarding school and the food was terrrible! So it was a case of earning money and cooking for ourself!

Thanks for loving them. Yeah, I learned how to cook meals quite late. But still worth it, since I can now try other recipes.

As they say, better late than never... Doesn't it taste great with the satisfaction and accomplishment of cooking it yourself!

Delicious chikent. Love it

Thank you! It surely is delicious.
