Greetings Dear Readers;

.

Hope you are well and enjoying fine weather wherever you are.

How about this Principle...

'An organisation is no stronger than its weakest link.'

It seems rather straight forward and is in a way. First, let's look at the word Organisation....Two or more people in a structured body with interdependent parts...each having a special function...ie. the executive structure of a business, military, schools, etc..

A weak link could be as simple as someone who is not qualified for the position or, as complicated as, someone who would disrupt the harmony of the organisation.

If an entity should look at their hiring practices in this way, from this perspective asking themselves how would the hiring of said person affect the whole of the organisation....it could improve their hiring decisions.

Let's give this principle a think....shall we.

Wishing you and yours all the best....God's best!
.
'For you see God loved the world so much that He sent His uniquely born Son (Jesus Christ) so that anyone who believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.'

It is faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life.

Thank you for dropping by today. ^__^

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Being a business owner, I know that ‘organization’ is a much more complicated structure than one might think! Every person has their own habits and motivation and it is a delicate balance to nurturing their spirit.

When it comes to the weakest link, knowing that there is always going to be one is a sobering thought. Part of it comes down to culture as a concept for the organization. When you are conscious of culture as a leader, it definitely helps when projecting tactics into strategy and vision. All 3 needed for any kind of organizational success.

What do we do with that weakest link? Strengthen it? Replace it? Surround it with stronger links so they are not a huge liability?

Tough questions but the smaller an organization it is, the more important it is to make sure the weakest link is as strong possible.

Greetings @zekepickleman ,

Appreciate your thought-full comment. All so true...Well said. ^__^

Yes...it is a conundrum indeed.

One option....hire better and train the rest...Other Options....just as you said.

Thank you for pointing out....'There is always going to be one...'

Ask yourself, Would that weak link make it in the trenches?

Thank you for dropping by.

Kind Regards, Bleujay

This one truly is an age tested principle that holds true today. Having run several businesses over the years it's important to keep up morale and keeping the team running efficiently. Without fail from time to time weak links do develop. Some were previously model employees who are having problems at home or at times you just make the wrong call in hiring. Many times working with the individual things can be remediated, but on occasion that link just needs to be cut. It's painful to go through the hiring search, but if that weak link can drag down the morale of other employees and affect the overall work quality, there's no choice.

My recommendation to friends looking to hire is to check not only references, but who those references actually are. People will list friends to be references and lie about the references qualifications. Hiring isn't as easy as it used to be...

At any rate, beautiful arrangement and pictures at the beginning of the post. And keeping the faith strong can help you through just about anything!

A timeless truth indeed! The same principle could be applied also to marriages, families etc.

What a beautiful still you've composed! and of course, the resulting artwork is stunning, as always!

If that is so, the company I work for is headed down the drain. 😄

I love your arrangement of fruits and foliage. When I first glanced at it from the outside, I thought it had gold eggs. LOL..... Then I came in and saw they were not eggs.

Greetings Jacey,

You were right the first time....Golden Eggs...hehe...wouldn't that be nice.

Thank you for your lovely reply to the post.....yes...I fear too many companies are in such a predicament. Ah well such is life. ^__^

Hope you are well.

NB Golden Kiwis...they are. ^__^

Hello @bleujay friend!... I don't know why, but when I read your posts, I always remember something from my past... I worked in a corporation for 23 years, and in my last 10, I reached executive positions, and one of the things my superiors would tell me (I was a young man of 34 or 35 with great responsibilities) was: "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link," referring to a subordinate whom they felt should be fired... So I used to respond: "That's true, but it's better to repair the weak link without breaking the chain"... Sometimes I was successful in making our employees better, and other times, very few as I recall, I failed... But that's how I did it...

And what great photos you bring today, for heaven's sake, that's true art!... Always with your beautiful dahlias! I've come to love them!

Thank you always for sharing!... Have a happy week, full of blessings and light!!...

Greetings @jlinaresp ,

You are too kind...so appreciate your lovely comment.

Yes...Principles are to provoke thought...so you are on the right track..^__^

Your experience is such a good story and example of how to apply the Principle.

Thank you for your kind encouraging words with regard to the still life.

Dahlias have a wonderful world all their own and there are men who are gardeners that just seem to take to them in a serious way...many in England especially...so I am not surprised you have found them to your liking.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers these days.

Kindest Regards, Bleujay

NB Very kind of you to reblog Bleujay's post...thank you!

Your welcome and Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend @bleujay 😍

If an entity should look at their hiring practices in this way, from this perspective asking themselves how would the hiring of said person affect the whole of the organisation....it could improve their hiring decisions.

I was a boss for nearly 30 years, in the restaurant business. How could one not consider this? I suppose if one were desperate to fill a position...

Over those years, I discovered that most people have hidden qualifications, sometimes that even they do not know about, and that nearly everyone is, in some way, valuable to an organization. There are those who are harmful to the organization of course, but they can easily be removed.

Greetings @owasco ,

How very kind of you to drop by....with these wise words....thank you.

Timeless Truth...happy to hear it resonated with you...it should be common knowledge to be sure....sadly it is not.

Hope you are well.

It has been some time, but I read one of your comments recommending a Homeopathic website....thank you....very helpful.

It would be lovely to see a post from you regarding the subject. ^__^

Kind Regards, Bleujay

Yes I think about doing that, but it would be a post many long hours in the making. O could try doing it in principles of the day form. Then it would be many years in the making, as any principle of true value could take to make. Why are the simplest things the most difficult to understand?

I do not know how simple it would be.....but your recommendation of the site and a couple of general ailments might be a good starting place....it was for me anyway with your comment. Some of your comments would make excellent posts. ^__^

Everyone has headaches from time to time....and loads of us have allergies.

Oh yes...it is an elephant...one bite at a time.

The timing seems right for alternatives.

Cheers, Bleujay

Hmmm... These delicious looking fruits in the photography make me hungry, @bleujay!

An organisation is no stronger than its weakest link.

That's true. I knew this speech (more general spoken) as "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link."

Greetings @gen-quimba ,

Lovely to hear from you. ^__^

Happy to know you are familiar....that always helps us learn the principle better...especially when said a bit differently.

Thank you for your kind words about the fruits...hope you found some to eat.

Kindest Regards, Bleujay

Greetings friend and blessed weekend to you

I really like this message. It’s so true that every person plays a big part in a team’s success. The photos of the harvest make the post even more meaningful, a great reminder that strong results come from everyone working together.

I really like this message. Every person in a team matters, and one weak spot can affect the whole group. Choosing the right people and supporting each other is so important. The photos also match the idea of growing strong together.
