RE: Snacking at Panetteria Il Pomodoro, Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela :)

The blog is fascinating on many levels. There is of course the food. Oh my heavens! Then there is an insight into a view of Venezuela I don't often see in media. Beautiful.

I didn't understand the reference to reggaeton, and a whole new chapter in history opened up for me when I looked that up. Finally, I got curious about Anzoategui State. I learned about the abundant sources of income available in that state.

For me, the blog was a delight and an education. Thank you!

In Venezuela, we have many problems--without detracting from the difficulties that other countries are going through right now, such as war, to mention the saddest--and I think it's easy to have an image of the country as a place without hope and without joy. The reality here is quite complex. My one month's salary as a university professor with almost twenty years of practice is not enough to pay this check. My second job pays the bills. Sad story.

This restaurant is in Puerto la Cruz. Nearby is the city of Lechería where there are many other establishments like this one. The comments are as varied as they are scandalous about front men and money laundering. But along with this, there are a lot of people working hard to stay afloat.

And reggaeton, my dear @agmoore...😩 In my city (Cumaná), it's everywhere. In general, the lyrics are pornographic. No one seems to care that children listen to this filth. It's a sad long story.

Thank you so much for the motivation! ❤️
