I want to improve my skills in photographing food and plants, so I’ve been consciously practicing photography by using my Sony camera instead of my iPhone in the kitchen and on the balcony. Since I take a lot of photos for practice, selecting and deleting them takes quite some time—but comparing them is part of the practice too ... , right? 😉
From those, I’m sharing the ones that turned out nicely.
Takuan (pickled daikon) and Yuzu
I like the limited color palette of white, black, and yellow, and how the lines come out clearly and sharply.
Speaking of yuzu, I also really like this photo. It's my Yuzu from the balcony ☺️

This is less about the photo itself—the smile on the girl doll on the right, made by my daughter, is just so good. I learnt that the subject really matters.
A warmly captured photo, even though it was night
I was or still is suffering from the low light environment in German house in the night time especially in this season. I took a photo without the ceiling light—only my desk lamp and small LED star were on, and it turned out like this. Maybe the light from fireworks outside helped too. It was a new discovery.

Looking at them like this, I'm happy I finally get used to focus on the right point and I realize that I seem to prefer quiet, calm photos. My current challenges are probably these two:
- Step back just a little more when taking photos.
- When it’s not intentional, make sure the background isn’t cluttered and keep it tidy.
One of my dreams this year is to receive work requests for an article that combines photography and writing, so I’ll keep working on improving my skills 💪

料理と植物の写真の腕を磨きたいなと思い、意識的に台所とバルコニーではiPhoneではなく、Sonyのカメラを使うようにして、写真の練習をしています。練習のためにたくさん撮るので、選んで削除するのが大変ですが、見比べるのも練習のうちですよね 💦
そんな中からきれいに撮れたものを投稿します。

白黒黄に絞られた色と、きちんとシャープに線が出ているところを気に入っています。
柚子といえばこの写真も気に入っています。

これは写真というより、子供が作った右側の女の子の人形の笑顔がすごくよくて、被写体大事。
夜だったのにいい感じにあたたかく撮れた写真
室内の天井につけた電気はつけず、私のデスクライトだけだとこんな感じ。外の花火のあかりも加わってよくとれたのかも。新しい発見。

鮮やかな色と静かな感じが好きです。

こうして見てみると、私は静かな写真が好きなようです。あと、くっきり見せたいところを思ったようにシャープに撮れるようになったのはちょっと進歩。目下の課題は・・・
1.もうほんのちょっと引いて撮る
2.意図的でない場合は背景がごちゃごちゃしないように整理して撮る
のふたつでしょうか。
今年は、写真と文章のセットの文化系の署名記事の依頼をもらうというのが夢の一つで、腕を磨いていこうと思います 💪
