I like the variation of the combination of plant-based milk with warm ginger which turns out to make me more relaxed.
I like the afternoon for tea time or coffee time, especially when I'm taking a break from working in my garden. But this time I thought of something creamy, but not coffee.
Then, I remembered that I still had a supply of oat milk that I originally wanted to make into desserts. But in fact I haven't had time to make desserts with the oatmilk supply.
It seems that the box of oat milk managed to call me in a magical way and tempted me to process the oat milk as soon as possible. How about ginger? My brain seemed to give me a suggestion.
That's a good idea. Ginger, combined with oat milk. Sounds like a reasonable combination.
It's just that oat milk is not as popular as almond milk in some areas. Maybe because of the expensive price. In fact, in my area I find soy milk more often. For the oat milk itself, I can buy the product at a supermarket that usually sells products from other areas.
Well, if we are too lazy to go somewhere just to order a delicious drink, of course we can make it ourselves at home. Like what I will make and hopefully it will be easy for you to imitate at home if you want to try it.
For me, these ingredients are very easy to get in the surrounding area. Ginger, and brown sugar. Meanwhile, to add a distinctive fragrance, I use pandan leaves. No need to worry because you can replace it with a kind of vanilla drops for drinks, or vanilla powder with a small amount so that the drink does not become bitter.
Meanwhile, regarding vegetable milk, you can use any type, the most important thing is that the vegetable milk that is most comfortable with your tongue because that is what will be closest to the tastiest taste according to your taste.
THE INGREDIENTS
This recipe is for two servings
- 400 ml of oat milk, or any plant-based milk according to your preference
- 50 grams of ginger
- 2 pandan leaves, or replace with vanilla drops
- 50 grams of brown sugar, or replace with other sweeteners
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
I prepare the ginger first by cleaning it. I have a special brush, a kind of special brush for cleaning ginger, turmeric, and other ingredients.
After the ginger is cleaned from the dirt that sticks to it, then I just scrape the skin of the ginger using a knife, so that I don't lose much of the ginger flesh.
Step 2
Then, I took a wooden mallet to flatten the gingers that had been peeled off. Oh, the funny fact is that I really like the part of flattening the ginger with this wooden mallet. It feels so satisfying! For me, maybe it's like channeling emotions, ehehe.
Step 3
In a sauce pan, then I put in all the ingredients: oat milk, flattened ginger, brown sugar, and pandan leaves. Cook over medium to medium heat until boiling.
Also, I watched them until the brown sugar had completely melted mixed with the oat milk. I kept stirring them so that the mixture wouldn't burn. Then, remove and serve while the drink is hot.
THE RESULTS
The brownish color that looks very tempting to my eyes, also this ginger milk looks creamy! I am happy and grateful to be able to relax in the afternoon while looking at the plants in my narrow garden.
I hold a glass of warm and delicious ginger milk. Before taking a sip, I inhale the aroma of ginger from inside the glass and it adds a warm delicious sensation!
I also added cookies to accompany my ginger milk drink this afternoon. Of course, you don't need to go far to a cafe to taste the deliciousness of this creamy ginger milk. Are you also interested in making the same drink as me?
