For many, holidays might be a day for long periods of rest, but for me, holidays are special times when we can fully savor our roles and responsibilities at home and fulfill small dreams together with the people we love.
🦜 Morning Routine: Happiness begins early in the morning.
This morning I woke up feeling refreshed as usual. The first thing I have to do before heading out to drop off my daughter is take care of the mischievous parrots and the adorable Sulcata tortoise. Currently, I have two parrots at home; my daughter asked to help take care of the rest. (Seeing children's kindness and love for animals makes me, as a mother, secretly smile.) Seeing that they're all well-fed and happy is a great sign for the start of the day.
☕ A Warm Breakfast with My Favorite Special Menu
Normally, my husband takes our daughter to school, but today I volunteered. After dropping her off, I made sure to stop by and buy some delicious treats to energize my morning. Today I went all out with fragrant coffee, fried chicken, hot fried pork, and of course, two pieces of chocolate cake to enjoy with my strong coffee. It was the perfect combination! 😋🍰☕
Upon returning home, I prepared breakfast on a small table in our accommodation, creating a space for conversation and enjoying breakfast with my husband. Sitting down to sip coffee, enjoy delicious food, and exchange small stories in the morning is truly energizing and prepares us to tackle whatever work awaits us today.
🛠️ Ground Floor Renovation Project: A Small Step Towards Our Dream Home
After a satisfying meal and recharging, it was time to tackle the highlight of the weekend: the ground floor renovation project. 🏗️
My husband and I planned to add a room and a new bathroom on the ground floor, aiming for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom layout to create a more functional, comfortable, and practical home for our family.
We drove around early in the morning searching for building materials, starting with HomePro.
Today was very lucky! We found a complete toilet set with a design we loved, ready for our bathroom renovation. Unfortunately, HomePro didn't have the lightweight concrete blocks we needed. So, we drove on to a local building supply store and finally ordered the lightweight concrete blocks and cement as planned. 👍
🐢 Slowing down the pace of life... while waiting.
After placing the order, we drove back home to wait for the delivery of the lightweight concrete blocks and cement. During this waiting period, I took the time to relax, play with my intelligent parrot and my favorite Sulcata tortoise, watching them slowly move and caress. It allowed us to truly absorb the peace and happiness around us.
This holiday, while seemingly uneventful—aside from housework, discussing the house structure, and renovating the downstairs area—these simple things are the most enduring and lasting happiness for our family. ❤️
