People often say, "I love you unconditionally," but I've always wondered if unconditional love really exists. Most relationships involve some form of exchange, whether it's emotional support, companionship, security, kindness, or even financial help. That doesn't make the love fake you know, but it does make me wonder where the line is
if someone benefits from having you in their life, does that automatically make their love conditional? Or is mutual benefit simply part of a healthy relationship?
If you realised someone was getting more from you than you were from them, would you become more guarded, or would you still keep your heart open? And share what you think?
First off, I don't think it's love if you are keeping record or measuring who's doing more. Love in a relationship is about two people helping each other grow together, so it has to be mutual and one could falls short, it doesn't mean the love has to stop.
This is not about keeping records or anything l, it just simply about regular patter because there's a big difference between supporting someone through a difficult season and being consistently taken for granted. Where would you draw that line?
Yeah, love shouldn't be where one is being taken for granted. It's never a wise choice to remain in such when it feels that way.
Though I agree with what you said that love should not be transactional. But don't you think healthy love still requires reciprocity over time, even if it's not always equal not one sided?

I believe happiness is a temporary feeling and life keeps proving it to me. Recently, I had a precious moment that made me happy. But today, I realized I might never get the chance to feel that way again and it hurts so bad.

Familiarity makes people feel entitled, the more closer you're the more they expect things from you. Also the fact that they are used to getting it from you, so saying no to them makes them feel somehow, they feel like you're rejecting them or they are now unimportant.

My uncle was expecting a nice contract and his brother needed money from him for his rent.
So he promised him the money.
The contract was delayed and he couldn't meet up.
And because he couldn't meet up his brother stop talking to him.
Not even a call, what if something bad had happened to my uncle that's how he would be keeping quiet.
That's bad. Why would I be angry because someone could not help me.

Very few people are wired that way. I don't know what to say about his brother, but I just feel he should have been understanding enough and at least check in. If I was your uncle, if the stuff later shows up which I pray it should, I wouldn't give him ...

I agree with you.
Some people don't understand that they are not the only ones with problems. But even during a phase some people are still willing to help. But because they couldn't meet up then it's a problem.
It's a very much a tendency. When people have gotten so close and familiar to a certain someone, it's almost like their brain and whole body system automatically clicks on receiving a yes and yes and yes to every of their request which is quite ridiculous.
A horrible mindset!
People feel entitled because they're either not properly raised or they're too self-absorbed that they think everything revolves around them.
Such people are my least favourite and it hurts when you have learned to take rejections but they haven't. It's terrible.

At least if someone says I try and do something to help you. Is not as if they have sometimes but they just feel sympathy or care.

The hardest part about healing is that it isn’t consistent. You’ll have good days that make you believe you’re finally okay, then bad days that make everything feel fresh again. Don’t mistake those moments for failure. Healing is still happening, even when it hurts.
Exactly, sometimes, out greatest fight is the fear that we aren't getting any better, but once we are able to fight and settle for positive result in our subconscious, every other thing will fall into place 😀
I can attest to this because at some point in my life, I thought I wasn’t making any progress due to my relapses. But eventually, I learned that healing has stages and those recurring painful moments are part of it.
