How does one optimize curating? I typically just do it myself when I read through Snaps and my follow content. What is considered optimized even?
- Never let your voting mana get up to 100%
- Make sure your voting value is above the dust treshold
- Vote only posts within 24h after they have been published
What is the dust threshold?
Why only vote for posts in the first 24 hours? Don't you have up to a a week to vote for posts?
It is about 2c, if your vote value is less and nobody else votes on that post (or comment), it doesn´t count at all!
After 24h a part of your curation rewards is gone, after 3d some more and after 6d you will get only 1/3 curation rewards. But I am not sure about details.
Wow, that is all news ot me. I don't know very much about the economics of curating. I just like reading thought-provoking content and Splinterlands banter from the handful of creators I follow. And I upvote a bunch of the fresh content on Snaps!

For this deadlift progression, the focus is rate of force production.
Monday morning I will go for a block of 5 x 5, each session I'm adding 5 to 10 pounds to the bar, with the regulatory factor being bar speed.
Deadlifts are satisfying in a primal way.
Love to see it! I have been doing 5x5 progressive overload on Deads, Squats, Bench, Overhead Press and Bent Over Row. Added in the hacksquat to get a larger range of motion, too. It is SO satisfying to get proper strong!
That's a solid routine sounds a lot like Starting Strength. I'm unfortunately not built to squat, my hips don't like it and I have disproportionately long femurs. I am going to add in some Zercher squats as deadlift assistance.
Hacksquats are great for the quads.
I want to progress to the clean & jerk, as a one size fits all compound exercise, but my gym isn't really set up for it (its a commercial gym) :(
Does your gym have kettle bells?
Occasionally I'll do a modified power snatch. I'm doing the deadlifts almost like a short high pull, and will do a set or two with a snatch width grip.
Clean and jerk has a lot of technical components but generate that initial velocity is key.
That is what I focus on in my dead lifts, maximizing explosive force for the bar to the top of the quads as quickly as possible, while making sure it "rams" solidly into my quads, via hip thrust
I have a 16KG kettlebell at home & 4kg kettebells too. My gym has tons of kettles.
Once a week or so I'll do Kettlebell swings with the 16s or 20s, that seems to be good for snap and velocity, and cardio :)
I'm older (52) so I do my strength training after cardio.
Kettlebell swings are great. I aspire to still be lifting when I am your age. I'm the underside of 40 (only just) - and want to build as much of a strength base as I can before I know it will decay. I walk 25 min to the gym, so that's my warmup & cool down. Only drive if raining.
Exactly that :) I've started again last Dec after about 3 years off lifting. I am ALL leg in terms of my height (just over 6ft / 180cm) and I find sumo squats to be the best compromise for me - the traditional leg machines just don't "work" for me with how long my legs are!
They’re so satisfying. Currently I’m doing my body weight(240lbs) 5x8. Feels good but hoping to add two more reps and then I’ll move up my bar weight. Keep up the hard work. 💪🏻

Yeah this brings back memories. I lifted this back in highschool(different weight) and ended up losing control and it kinda gave me a backpain after that. I still have it 🥹.

For now the situation is somewhat under control, the good thing about having a doctor as a partner. I was able to sleep for more than a couple of hours unlike yesterday, but due to the effects of medication.
Never seen such a thing! Interesting that it is organized alphabetically, and not broken into groups of items that can be found near each other (like noodles and spaghettis).

But focusing on the above ...you can easily see the delegators from PeakD wallet:
No I meant as in seeing if someone is delegating to you when you are voting. An easier way for a curator to get warned about that they are voting on someone that delegate to them. When you have 100s of delegators the wallet page is not really that helpful.
I'm not sure there are many curators with tons of delegations doing their votes manually on PeakD.
But we can eventually consider adding this here. What do you think?

I know for an absolute fact that delegating to @leo.voter has 0 bearing whatsoever on received upvotes. I know this because I personally work with and oversee the curators and I know the exact parameters given. Now, my aim is to show you the same story (as I know it is difficult to subjectively explain).
Is it also possible that we just have a lot of delegators who are also highly active creators on the platform?
- compare the number of delegators to @leo.voter and the spread of HP vs curangel (and other services)
- compare the activity of delegators to @leo.voter to the activities of other delegators on those other services
I am not well-versed in curangel, I just pulled the delegator lists up side-by-side and it seems the majority of HP is from a handful of accounts. Nothing against curangel btw, I am just showing that @leo.voter has:
- a wide array of delegators of all sizes
- an active userbase amongst said delegators
When I look at the number of delegators to @leo.voter and their activity on INLEO, it speaks a much different story than Curangel who only has a few delegators with the majority of HP
leo.voter has a very wide base of delegators and the culture of INLEO is highly reflexive (if you are involved in one aspect of LEO, you likely dabble in many aspects of LEO and therefore organically are a part of being voted, delegating, owning the tokens, being premium, etc.)
Your other points are valid and I understand. I think the delegator base paints a different story. I will also leave the Premium discussion aside and focus on this "vote 4 delegation" issue. It just couldn't be farther from the truth of how we curate
When curating, we literally scroll the /new feed for blog posts to read & vote and we scroll the /trending feed for threads to read & vote (Threads are usually ranked & voted based on engagement, views, etc. metrics as they are less substantive from a raw word count POV)
There's 0 favoritism in terms of this model and I would respectfully disagree with your take that people have found a way to game this. I believe the delegator list and activities being far more wide-ranging and diverse (and reflexive, as I said in the above comment) paint the flip side of the coin

If the majority of the content you curate is published from inleo frontend. It makes it easier to game it doesn't it.
If I use inleo and if I am highly active creator I will more likely to receive a vote + if I have premium then my posts would be more likely to shown to the curators because it gets promoted. See how these things add up to a higher and higher chance of getting curated. What happens when I delegate to leo.voter knowing this? While individually they might not give favoritism to a delegator, when added up they do create that favoritism.

They have more delegators with even wider spread than leo.voter and they have very much active content creators and they still have 20% less vote weight going to people that delegate to them compared to leo.voter

The argument against us is that we have pay4vote which is far from the truth. We have an ecosystem where using all Leo products is highly encouraged. People use them all and our core community is the most active community in terms of involvement. Punishing that makes little sense

We could add the word “potential” in there. Curation in our community is defined as “your post is read and considered for upvotes”. Curation is never guaranteed — we often get people asking stuff like that and our answers are always like this:
I don't know if anyone has said or done it before. But since yesterday I think Hive should have an app to do live, where you can watch musicians sing live, stop using space x and tik tok, YouTube, etc where you can receive live tokens, play live without using Twich.
Well, when we have so few users on hive to begin with, the number of those interested in hosting a stream on a hive only platform are probably even less. It was never a super busy place.
We also had dlive once upon a time, before the fork from steem to hive.
Once upon a time we had three! vimm, dlive, and dtube. They all supported live streams.
The only thing that they did that was "special" was create a post in which the live stream was embedded. Also supported pop ups for tipping that streamers could add as overlays. I used all 3.
