After a couple of years I met one of clasmates from Bangladesh in Beijing today and enjoyed a great day with him. He is staying in Nanjing and last time I have met him when Ibhave visited Nanjing in 2023. It was a great trip just after the end of the Covid 19 epidemic. Though he has come to Beijing for a business trip but I have get tgis weekend and he styed one more day to meet me today. So, I went to the Beijing downtown very early in the norning and we have our breakfast together.
We have stayed together for various diacussion after the breakfast and ny friend got ready for the checkout from the hotel. The tel my friend has chosen JW Marriott chain which is one best one in Beijing. The good thing is that all of their staffs are so good in Engkish which is maintained properly for foreigners. And the breakfast was also with a standard format wuth the western and eastern combination with some traditional fusion. We were so engaged in talking so I could not take photos in for review.
But I want to share an authentic dish from the Xinjiang Province that we have taken for our dimner at an authentic Xinjiang restaurant in the central Beijing. To make more clear discussion, there are many muslim restaurants everywhere which are known as 'Lao Ma' where many Muslim from Xinjiang and Gansu province are running thosr restaurants. But most of them don’t offer genuine dish in my overall experience.
Only in some handful Xinjiang restaurants offer this type of dishes wuth the proper authenticity. Usually these restaurants are different from the normal Muslim restaurant that are so common here. Though my friend has several experience of the dish but for me, it was the firstvtime experience of enjoyingbthe Xinjiang style Pulao.
The Xinjiang style Pulaonis one of the main staple foods of the Xinjiang people, oriented from the Muslim community there. So, it is an easy option to enjoy without any issues with the Halal certification. The dish may seems like Biriyani of the South Asian coubtties like Bangladesh, India or Pakistan. But it is a completely different one.
The dish is also so simole without the massive spicy fusion thatvis very comkom for Biriyani. It contains the rice cooked with sliced carrot that spread the sweet flavor tobthe entire rice. And the topping is the magicvofvthe dish thatvis well cooked mutton or sheep meat, especially the leg part which usually very soft, and it is maintained that the meatvis come from younger animal to.make the meat nore tender and juicy.
We have also ordered some kebab which is very common dish in Southeast Asia also. It is not like the BBQ where raw meat is directly used in the rod. But kebeb it is different as mashed meat is used for baking. But here in China kebeb are almsot sikilar like the BBC but it was dekicious and the combo withbthe Pulao it becomes a mouth watering combo.
In conckusion, I can say tgis simole dish is a very delicious with the purity in taste without any spices that make a dish to get completely different taste. I kove itvanf I am going to have this food very soon in ciming days.
