I've been doing grocery shopping at lunch or afternoon lately. I hate the warm temperature of summer but I have no choice because my sleeping time is wrecked once again that it's difficult for me to wake up early.
For this month's grocery quest, I set off at lunch time. Yup, the peak of summer heat.
First thing I did was pay the bills before heading to the drugstore. I always do the light tasks first before heading to the grocery.
The crowd inside the grocery was lesser compared last month but still a lot. And I'm still lucky because there's still chicken breast fillet available. Meanwhile, I noticed that the chicken wings have gotten smaller. I guess the growth of chickens are affected with the warm weather. I remember reading it somewhere. I was also able to buy a miso paste which I've been waiting to be available again for so long.
I was done after an hour. Some areas are narrow like this school supplies section which I have to pass through to get to the cashier area. It's almost time for the next school year again and they are preparing the items to be sold as early as April.
Finally lining up at the cashier lane. I bought quite a lot this time and obviously spent more this time as well. There were also kids running and screaming behind me which really pained my ears. I know weekends and grocery shopping is also a family bonding but parents should discipline their kids and instill public etiquette.
After paying the groceries, I left the cart at baggage area and went to the food court to buy some steamed siomai for dinner. 8 pieces of it is already enough to make me full. Also, I love their chili garlic sauce. The spiciness of it is just right.
And finally heading out to the mall!
I immediately opened to eat this salted sunflower seeds while resting, right after I arranged the groceries to the pantry. I missed eating sunflower seeds. I think the last time I ate some was seven or eight years ago. Lol.
Late in the afternoon, my head began to ache. I assume this was due to the warm weather outside. I was melting like butter on my way home and was stuck in traffic for a couple of minutes. Just imagine being stuck on the road in a 40+ degrees Celsius heat index, no wind, and surrounded with vehicles emitting heat as well.
Good thing I already bought something for dinner because I wouldn't be able to cook with a throbbing pain in the head. I drank a medicine and ate my dinner earlier than my intended time and called it a day. I woke up hours later and my headache was gone. Whew!

Hopefully, weather temperature would lower down next month. This rising temperature is a threat and very alarming. Keep safe, everyone!
Thanks for reading! 💚
