Scientists have created completely synthetic cells (including lipid membrane and a small genome) which were capable of growth, replication (at least for a few generations) and competition for food, stitched together only from non-living molecules. But can this be called life?

As long as real humans die of hunger and thirst, i don't give a damn about these overpaid scientific atrocities. this all just shows the lack of intelligence...

To some extent, unjustice is part of our existence. If we would have waited with science and distributed the resources instead until all people are equally doing well, do you think we would have smartphones and computers today, and a cure for many diseases?

Your point is surely valid. Though personally, my experience makes me feel that all the technological advancements are not helping at all in finding a fairly sane mutual relationship to live in peace. 😬😏 And equality is just a word, for know.

During evolution, the main driver was (and is) not living in peace, but surviving, struggling, competing, who is the best. This is in our DNA, so what are you expecting? I am a biologist, so for me this is no surprise, that there will be always unequalities.

i hear you. so then society should at least become honest and stop the hypocrisy. i could live with that. 🤷

The constant lies keep the people from protesting, so the elites won´t stop them.

Yeah, that, and it's easier to 'not see' nor act... since 'everything' is well prepared, organized, and 'comfortable'. i want that fluffing lambo. 😬😏
