A quiet weekend lunch in the village of Castagno.

Good evening, blog friends, here I am again to tell you about myself. This is the weekend community, and I want to tell you what I did this weekend. Aside from a few trips and errands, I was invited to lunch by a couple of friends—I go out every now and then, too—and I literally fell in love with the village where Castagno lives, which I'd visited on other occasions to walk in the woods and their adorable rustic house. When we arrived in the village, we immediately came across the church, the main one and also the only one I immediately photographed. Then, to reach their house, we walked down some narrow and somewhat rugged paths. It's not a place you can walk in heels; even I had trouble walking in rubber boots. However, the village is a real gem, all made of stone, with these stone houses all connected to each other. It's truly a very small, ancient village. My friends told me that in winter it barely reaches 150 inhabitants. One day I'll have to go back for a walk because we were hungry and I didn't get to see the whole village.

Then I entered their house, which I'd say is the perfect village house: small, with low, thick walls, a rustic, welcoming feel. They've decorated it in a mix of shabby chic and rustic. I found it truly adorable, a place where you feel at home and part of the family. I really liked the beamed walls, the stonework, and the fireplace in the kitchen. I didn't photograph the upstairs because their children were there and they didn't want to disturb them. Then we finally ate some delicious pasta with meat sauce cooked by my friend Sara, who cooks divinely. The meat sauce is obviously homemade. I don't understand how she manages to stay slim with all the deliciousness she cooks! We had lunch, chatted about a wide variety of topics, and at the end of it we ended up watching the news and commenting on the news (mostly complaining about politicians). It was a lovely weekend lunch, quiet, simple, and in good company.

Thanks ❤️❤️

I love Italy and have been there many times. I especially love the little out-of-the-way places and getting amongst the locals as I feel I have a better experience, more real than a tourist experience.
