Have you ever tried pearl millet khichdi? We often eat khichdi made from lentil and rice, But have you ever eaten khichdi made from millet? If not than it's ok.... Today i am going to share the full recipe so you can enjoy this :-)

3 days ago on the auspicious day of akshay tritiya we made bajara khichdi which is also known as pearl millet khichdi. This is a yummiest version of khichdi, this is eaten in winters usually but This cooked only once in the summer at our home...Which is akshay tritiya...Which is our auspicious festival.

Khichdi is a quick , easy and healthy meal which we loves to enjoy. Bajara khichdi is famous in north india and in rajasthan people loves to eat frequently in winters. This is a nutritious porridge, where we can enjoy the unique chewy texture of bajara. There are many ways to make Bajra Khichdi...Even my mom and mother in law's methods are different...But today I would like to share my mother-in-law's recipe.

We can enjoy the khichdi with lots of ghee , milk / jaggery / tamarind/ beans and ker and papad. At my mom home all loves to enjoy it with ghee and tamarind , at my in-law house all loves to enjoy with beans, ker and milk. I love to enjoy it with jaggery/ sugar and papad. And yes lots of ghee , Which is the most important factor of this khichdi to enjoy the real taste of rajasthan.

INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Bajara (millet) 1 bowl
  • Moth beans 1/2 bowl
  • Salt 1-1/2 tbsp
  • Ghee
  • Water 6 bowl

PROCESS ✅

Step 1 :

First we have to soak the millets for 3-4 hours . For that first wash the millet 2-3 times and rinse all water and kept it cover for 3-4 hours.

When millet pearl become dry just grind it. Don't grind it too much. We have to just broken the millet. We don't need powder, we need coarse mixture like this:

Step 2 :

Now take moth beans and mix it with millet.

Step 3 :

Now take a cooker , boil the water , add salt to water , add millet and beans mixture and stir it for 2-3 minutes . Now cover the lid and cook till the 2-3 whistle.

Open the cooker after 10 minutes, your khichdi is ready to enjoy.

Enjoy it with ghee and as you want to have 😄😄.

We fry ker and dried beans in the oil and sprinkle salt and red chilli powder .

This is really so yummy and healthy. Easy to make. Hope you like this recipe and will try soon. 😄🍀
