Today is the first Sunday of Advent. In many homes, the first candle in the Advent wreath is lit, as is the case in our home as well. I bought white scented candles, four pieces of different heights. This is because every week one more candle is lit, ie, next week two, and then three, while all four candles will be lit in the last Advent Sunday before Christmas. Until then, all candles will have the same height as they have melted during the previous weeks.

Before you think that I have made a mistake about the community in which I am publishing this post (Hive collectors, and I am talking about the Advent candle??), I have to let you know that it is exactly this candle flame, which gives light in the darkness, that inspired the monthly theme for the Hive Collectors Community. Light.
We can publish our contributions for the December topic (starting from tomorrow morning), featuring a collection of lights, especially Christmas lights.

I know, after reading the monthly theme for December, the thoughts of many those who are maybe curious about the topic could be this: She is crazy!! We don't have so many Christmas lights at home to present it as a collection! 😂
Oh, well, I can't know that. Maybe you planned for this year to decorate your entire home with many different Christmas lights, a whole collection of string lights which would be perfect for the theme. Maybe you also like those types that play music while the lights are changing. Those are also fun. Or could it be that you have none... but that is also completely fine, 😀 as this month our collections don't strictly have to be ours.
We can participate with the Christmas decorations that we see on the streets of our city, in public spaces, buildings, window shops, or lights on the Christmas trees of our neighbours, friends, etc. It doesn't even have to be the city where we live, but a place we visit during December. The only requirement is to present the Christmas lights and decorations with photos you take, accompanied by your impressions or a story about them.

Right now, I can show just a few corners from our city where the lights were officially switched on this Friday afternoon. Then yesterday evening we took a short walk with our son, who was visiting us, and concluded that the Christmas lights on the streets are quite modest. I did like the golden string lights on some buildings, and the golden bell in one of the squares. I still want to visit the city hall and the square in front of it, as I remember it was nice last year. The rest of the streets are decorated, but it is not so spectacular.

On the other hand, our son was bragging about the beautiful and rich offer of the Christmas lights in the city where he lives, so I am sure these days we will pay him a visit and check the streets of Valencia out by ourselves. I hope he was right and that it wasn't just a bait to get us to come. 😁 My real entry for the monthly theme will come from there, if I manage to take photos of the Christmas lights of Valencia and make a collection out of them.
And what about you? Do you like this season when everything is decorated on the streets with lights? If you would like to participate in this monthly theme, you are very welcome to bring the collection you have at home, or with all the Christmas lights from the places you visit, until the end of December. Let us illuminate our eyes, hearts, and also this community. ✨
