The land of beautiful sceneries and rich cultures is a beauty that is still to be explored at Cebu. A few days ago, my family and I were given a chance to visit a small village in the mountainous section of Cebu region. This was not an ordinary vacation but it was get-back-to-nature and to ourselves in a peaceful place that was the slice of heaven.
We started our adventure with an early morning tour and proceeded around the green hills and valleys of Cebu. The more up the mountain-side we went the cooler the air and this view of landscape had become a masterpiece of green. The color of the scenery was also quite attractive and wildflowers and fields of rice were present everywhere in the hills. The expectations of the family had to spend the time in the silence which would follow it.
On getting to the village, the people of the village received us with open heart arms since they were friendly hearted as portrayed by their smiling faces. It was a fair village, a jovial group of old-fashioned dwellings, trees which bloomed round, like high Italian capes, and beautiful mountain scenes. The feeling was that the atmosphere was peaceful and I could feel how the strain of urban living was being oozed out as we were relaxing.
Our other most striking experience of the stay was that we got an experience of being close to nature. It was also an ideal landscape to be explored with thick forests and hilly landscapes in the village. We would be getting up in the mornings each day and hearing the chirp of the birds and the rustling of the leaves somewhere in the wind. It was some relief to the city life.
We also spent our days walking on the zigzag path that led to the mountains. The tracks were well cut and we could see at our own speed. There was a spectacular scenery along with our hike which was served at every corner. The vision of an oncoming sun behind mountains and illuminating the valleys at the bottom of it with gold is a view that I will never forget. We also made pictures and we had just been overwhelmed by the beauty that is surrounding us and we are lucky that we were able to see such beauty of nature.
The visit also gave the ultimate chance to spend time with the family. We were camping at night around a camp fire with a fire pit where we were telling stories and laughing at each other. The atmosphere was very welcoming due to the presence of a fire and the mountain air that ensured that we knew one another in a personal level. It is under the soothing effect of nature that some of our most memorable moments were spent and we discussed our future goals and all that.
The picnic was one of the best moments in our family as we took a picnic in one of the streams near where we were. We shook a blanket and had a snack or two which we had packed up and listened to the calming effect of the running water on the rocks. The children were playing in the shallow water splashing and making fun and the adults resting and having fun. It was nothing more than a nice yet merely pretty of appreciating nature of our land and our company. By the conclusion of the two days in the village, I was so much thankful to the experience. It also has strengthened our family relations as this was not only a journey that rejuvenated our relationship with nature but also with one another. The gorgeous scenery and the quietness had given us much needed reprieve of the busy life routine.
This Cebu mountain village has changed me into a change person because it made me realize that I needed nature and my family. It was a very good place to relax and meditate because of the peace as well as the spectacular scenery. I have left behind me some of the best things and even the love of the beauty of the surrounding world. I want to ask everyone to explore such moments because it is in such moments that we get to know peace, as well as become united.
