Heya fellow foodies! Today I present to you some sourdough Scoring from my bake off late last night.
Heart & Leaves

As far as I know this one is unique to my small, in home bakery.
Next are large leaves, perfect for the Autumn season...

Sourdough scoring, like any art, takes a lot of practice and for me they always turn out different.
These ones aren't my best work as these were high hydration loaves. Score too deeply and the whole thing deflates!
I look forward to sharing more intricate designs with you in the future when I make low hydration bread.
Low hydration holds the design very well and you never have to worry about cutting too deep. You can also work on the art a lot longer as the low hydration won't "pop". It holds its form for a very long time no matter how much scoring is done to it.
Here is the whole batch...

What type of sourdough is your favorite? High or low hydration, wheat, white or other grains? Do you make art on your bread too? It would be cool if you shared a photo with me 😎💪
