They were nicely growing on a hill facing the ocean. The breezes blow warm from the south Pacific, so this helps keep this area relatively warm in winter.
These daffodils usually go dormant over winter, and they appear in Spring. But this year, the bulbs decided to sprout earlier than usual. That hill is dotted with yellow.
