Lately, having so much of my time taken up by work has made me appreciate my free time even more. Going out and getting together with friends is something I do every weekend, and it always gives me the energy to face a new week. Recently, I've been lucky enough to make several new friends while also keeping in touch with the ones I've had for years. I never miss a get-together, which means I'm always coming home with a few new stories to tell 😃.
Últimamente, el tener tanto tiempo ocupado por el trabajo me hizo valorar mucho mi tiempo libre fuera de él. Pasear y reunirme con amigos es algo que hago cada fin de semana, lo que siempre me renueva las energías para volver a afrontar una nueva semana. En este último tiempo tuve la suerte de hacer varios amigos nuevos, y también de seguir manteniendo mis amistades de siempre. No me pierdo ninguna reunión, lo que me permite tener varias anécdotas nuevas 😃.
One of the outings I had been meaning to do for a long time was visit my aunt, who lives 20 km from my house. The easiest way to get there is by train, a trip that always takes me about an hour. When I arrived at her house, we chatted and spent a nice afternoon catching up. The weather wasn't really on my side that day, but the rain was perfect for staying indoors, enjoying an afternoon snack that lasted almost until dinnertime.
Uno de los paseos que tenía pendientes hace tiempo era visitar a mi tía que vive a 20 km de mi casa. Para ir hasta allá, lo más conveniente es ir en tren, en un viaje que siempre me toma como una hora. Cuando llegué a la casa, conversamos y pasamos una buena tarde poniéndonos al día. El clima no me acompañó mucho esa vez, pero la lluvia fue perfecta para estar adentro en una merienda que se extendió casi hasta la hora de la cena.

Of course, these days wouldn't have been complete without a few get-togethers centered around good food. We organized meals with my new hiking friends and also with my best friend, where we had gnocchi, one of my favorite dishes. Last year, I made myself a promise that I would cook gnocchi on the 29th of every month, and I actually kept it. This year, however, I didn't repeat the challenge. This dish, made with mashed potatoes and flour, is delicious but also quite time-consuming to prepare, so it's not something people make very often. Unlike last year, when I ate gnocchi every month, this year I've only had it twice, both times cooked by someone else. I already used up all my cooking energy last year 😂.
Por supuesto que en estos días no faltaron las reuniones para juntarnos a comer. Organizamos juntadas con mis nuevos amigos de trekking y también con mi mejor amiga, en donde comimos ñoquis, uno de mis platos favoritos. El año pasado había hecho la promesa de que haría ñoquis los 29 de cada mes y la cumplí, pero este año no volví a repetir el desafío. Este plato, hecho a base de puré de papas y harina, es delicioso pero lleva mucho trabajo, así que es raro que alguien haga. A diferencia del año pasado donde cada mes comí ñoquis, esta vez vengo probando este plato solo dos veces en el año y de la mano de otro cocinero. Yo ya gasté toda mi energía de cocinera el año pasado 😂.

Of course, there was also time for girls' get-togethers with my friends. Even though we're all over 30 now, we still enjoy the classic "sleepovers," only now they have a different vibe. We get together at one of our houses, order food for delivery, everyone brings something to drink, and by the end of the night, we usually include a little tarot reading to try to predict our future. I'm not sure I completely believe in it, but it's fun to see what the cards have to say.
Por supuesto que también hubo tiempo para reuniones de chicas con mis amigas. A pesar de que todas ya tenemos +30, todavía nos siguen gustando las famosas "pijamadas", solo que ahora tienen otra dinámica diferente. Organizamos para reunirnos en la casa de alguna, pedimos comida por delivery, cada una lleva algo para tomar y al final de la noche, terminamos incluyendo un poco de tarot para adivinar nuestro futuro. No sé si creo en eso del todo, pero es entretenido saber qué tienen para decir las cartas mágicas.

One of the last things that surprised me was an unexpected gift from my sister. One weekend, she called me and told me to come over because she had a present for me. It turned out to be a tripod for taking photos. She knew I had wanted one for a long time, so she didn't hesitate to buy it for me. Of course, we had to try it out right away with a little photo session featuring the two of us and my canine niece. And of course, there was plenty of mate along the way.
Una de las últimas cosas que me sorprendieron fue mi hermana con su inesperado regalo. Un fin de semana me llamó para que fuera a la casa a buscar un presente que tenía para darme, y se trataba de un trípode para fotos. Ella sabía que yo hace tiempo quería uno de esos, así que no dudó en comprarmelo. Por supuesto, lo estrenamos con una buena sesión junto a ella y mi sobrina perruna. Y por supuesto no faltaron los mates de por medio.

Being surrounded by the people I love and my friends always recharges my social battery. I really enjoy going out and socializing, so I never miss the chance to do it. All of these little outings gave me wonderful memories, and I'm glad I made the time to catch up with the people I care about. I hope the next few days are full of plans, and if they aren't, I'm sure it won't take me long to come up with something interesting 😅.
Rodearme de mis seres queridos y amigos siempre me recarga la batería social. Me gusta mucho pasear y sociabilizar, así que no pierdo la oportunidad de hacerlo. Todos estos pequeños paseos me dejaron buenos recuerdos, y me alegro de haberlos hecho para ponerme al día con las personas que quiero. Espero que en los próximos días no falten los planes, y si faltan, estoy segura de que no voy a tardar en armarme alguno interesante 😅.
