Hello hivers! How was your summer days! In my country Philippines it was so hot but I made it more hotter by making chili garlic oil! Chili garlic oil is one of the most popular sauce in the kitchen, restaurants and street foods. Being a lover of spicy it always increases the tolerance. It's best paired with different kinds of snacks, dishes or just simply with rice. So here's how I prepare it.
The ingredients:
Chili 15 pieces
Garlic 5 heads
Oil 1/2 packet
Oyster 1 sachetF
Msg 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Soy Sauce 1/2 cup
Ginger 1 thumb size
Onion 1 head
Equipment:
Blender
Then here's the very simple process. First get the blender. During the first time I try to make chili garlic I don't have a blender to I manually slice all the ingredients into very tiny pieces. It took too much time and I got a teary eye. Wash the blender to ensure it's not contaminated with other insects.
Then remove all the onion, ginger and garlic skin and put it directly into the blender. The volume of the garlic is 10 pieces while the ginger is just very little like a thumb size and only one onion. They are just seasoning not really the main ingredient just to add taste and flavor. Add everything on the blender and make sure it is tightly closed before pushing it.
Then after pushing it 3-4 times. This is the result. It's so tiny and satisfying. Just be careful not to smell it so hard because it's painful.
Then put a lot of oil. In this session, I put half a bottle of oil. The more oil it has, the more it has fine consistency. But make sure that the amount of the blended spices is suit to the amount of oil.
Then add the blended spices. Stir it well. Then after one minute add the salt, soy sauce, oyster sauce and the calamansi juice.
After 2-3 minutes of mixing and boiling in a very low heat. It's ready to serve! This amount can last up to 10-15 days.
It's so beautiful in the eyes but painful in the ears hahaha.
A lot of spicy lovers are familiar with chili garlic oil. So today I'm having siomai. A steamed meat that is very famous as a street food in my country.
This is a packed siomai. It's easy to make it but here in the island meat is very expensive so I rather bought a packed one. It has sauce inside included but today I will use my own chili garlic oil.
This is how it looks like. Very cute chunks or cubes of meat wrapped with a lumpia wrapper. I like fried one so I just get my pan and fried all of it.
Then when it turns golden brown, I turn off the stove and remove the siomai in the oil.
Then I just fill another plate for a chili garlic and got my plate of fried siomai and I began eating. After eating I regret it because it's so hot and spicy. Hahaha
Chili garlic is not only good for siomai but also for fried chicken, fish or any meat and vegetables. It's also a good pair to a fried rice. If you love spicy dishes then go with chili garlic!
