A post to give a little shout-out to my plants because these aren't just any plants; these seeds traveled all the way here. They're sweet chili from Venezuela. I'm currently in Peru, and this variety doesn't exist here. It's a chili that isn't spicy but has all the flavor of a hot chili, and it's used a lot in Venezuelan food, especially in stews and seasonings for meat and chicken. I missed this flavor, and I took advantage of my cousins' trip to Venezuela and asked them to bring me back some seeds.
I'll obviously be using these for myself. Also, I'm not sure, but I know that in some countries they don't plant certain things because they sometimes harm the native flora. I haven't verified this information; I'm just repeating what I think I heard somewhere.
Look how they're doing; they're exactly one month old. I planted several seeds, and some sprouted within the first few days, while others are just now sprouting. The ones I'm showing are some of the strongest, since some start to weaken and certainly when you have many plants together, they fight for resources; we don't see it, but one absorbs more nutrients from the soil, leaving the other in scarcity.
Un post para hacer una pequeña apreciación a mis plantas porque estas no son cualquier planta, estas semillas viajaron hasta acá. Son ajíes dulce de Venezuela. Actualmente me encuentro en Perú y esto no existe aquí, es un ají que no pica pero tiene todo el sabor del ají, y se usa mucho en la comida venezolana, especialmente en guiso y aderezos de carnes y pollo, yo extrañaba este sabor y aproveché la oportunidad de que mis primas hicieron un viaje a Venezuela y les pedí traerme unas cuantas semillas.
Esto lo usaré obviamente para mi sola, además no estoy segura pero sé que en algunos países no siembran ciertas cosas porque en ocasiones afecta la flora, esta información no la he verificado solo estoy replicando lo que me parece alguna vez escuché.
Vean como van, tienen exactamente 1 mes. Sembré varias semillas y algunas brotaron mis primeros días y otras recién están brotando. Las que estoy mostrando son parte de las más fuertes, ya que algunas se empiezan a debilitar y ciertamente cuando tienes muchas plantas juntas, se pelean por los recursos, nosotros no lo vemos pero una absorbe más nutrientes de la tierra dejando a la otra en escasez.
