The Bad The Wrong Cafe

We had been wanting to check out the Bad The Wrong Cafe, but when we went on a Wednesday, it was closed. It turned out to be their downtime, and they are open on other days. So the next time we went to the capital, we spared some time to visit it before we drove home. They are in one of the commercial spaces near the Strawberry Fields of La Trinidad.

We entered and got settled at the corner table. It was intentional so the LilGuy wouldn't get overwhelmed when there were other people around. He was comfortable in his chair, and he kept an eye on everyone (through the spaces under the table).

It was 4 pm then, and I wasn't really starving, hence, I chose something light from their menu, a vegetable salad (I forgot what they called it). It sure looked tasty at first sight, then came the first bite.

Uhmm... I didn't realize it would be that spicy! I must have missed reading the description on the menu! I do like a little bit of spice, but not that hot. In fairness, it was delicious.

The husband, on the other hand, was famished, so he went for the Champion's Meal. We didn't know the ribs were that huge, lol! Our chins literally dropped when they served it. We knew right then we would have to take home at least half of it.

The platter had two big grilled ribs, cabbage, string beans, eggs, and of course, rice. It also came with a bowl of soup. They described it as a "busog-lusog" (full and healthy) dish, dedicated to hardworking men and women. That explains the serving size!

Anyway, our dessert was mango sticky rice in coconut cream (top photo), and our drinks were a passion fruit mix, which brought back some memories of the old days.

The cafe ambience was nice, and the interior was simple yet cozy. The waitstaff were friendly and accommodating. We were thankful that the place is pet-friendly. Only a few tables were occupied when we went in, so it was pretty quiet.

Overall, we had a good experience. We read that their Thai dishes are authentic, so we may go back again to try some of those.

And oh, the hubby ended up eating the veggie salad because it was a tad too spicy for my taste. Yongi ate all the string beans included in the Champions Meal, and yes, we did take home one of the ribs😅

Smile... laugh often... love more... be grateful always!
