Hello beer friends, here for another #beersaturday challenge! 🍻
This is a throwback to a beer moment I had when I went to Vienna last May.
I found out that Stiegel is a private Austrian brewery, founded in 1492! For more than 120 years, Stiegel has been in the hands of the Kiener family and now is one of the most important private breweries in all Austria.
weisse beer and wiener schnitzel - what a combo! (the fork is for size reference 😮)
Stiegl offers a wide range of beers, from classics, to craft beers, to special editions, also radlers and alcohol free solutions.
The restaurant I was in for dinner didn't have all the possibilities and I thought the best beer to drink with the schnitzel was a weisse.
Man, that was really good! Probably one of the best I've drunk so far. When I took the pics, the foam was already gone but it was quite present and smooth. As most of weisse beers, it's pretty easy and refreshing to drink. It got some fruity notes, low on bitter and hops, almost sweet. Really tasty, I enjoyed so much and it's been an important part of my Wien experience 😊
I went to Vienna to meet a friend that I met at Dark Malta festival. She stayed with me for the weekend, bringing me to visit some beautiful parts of the city. Parks, museums, the butterfly house...
A hilarious thing was our different choices on ordering food depending on the time of the day. In this picture above we were at lunch. My lunch is a salty one: omelette with cherry tomatoes, cheese and rucola; she had crepes with apricot jam, whipped cream and a large cappuccino. That's basically my Sunday Italian breakfast 🙄
As opposite, for our 5 PM break, I took the classic original Wiener Sacher torte; she took wursts with sauerkraut, wtf? That's supposed to be for dinner!
I don't understand, my Italian soul is yelling 😂
ORGY - BLUE MONDAY
And now, for the music side
Since I was preparing my dj setlist I was looking for some industrial/electronic metal songs that are danceable. New Order's Blue Monday is a big classic but it's overplayed at goth and new wave events. Then I found this cover by Orgy that I didn't know.
This version basically replaced Blue Monday in my mind and I prefer this one much more than the original, maybe because it's much closer to what I play myself as Harbiter.
In fact - spoiler alert - I'm working on a cover myself 😏 I hope to get it release for January, maybe sooner eheh
Well, that's all for today my beer lovers. See ya next time, cheers! 🍻
