I've noticed that as we grow older, making new friends becomes much harder. Everyone is busy chasing work, family, or personal goals, and even when you meet amazing people, maintaining the friendship takes more effort than it used to.
Do you think making friends is actually harder as an adult, or are we just more selective than we were growing up?

Sort:

You can always make friends at any age. But as a kid the play gives you more possibilities to interact and make friends.

I agree with you, kids focused more in the environment where a lot of interactions usually happens, but as we grow older ours becomes more fewer and intentional effort is required.

But in this case, do you think this is one of the reasons why most adult friendships begin at work?

I can remember how every single child, class mate, neighbour's child was my friend when I was little. Now, I have countless thoughts to get even close to anyone outside who I know. A lot changes in adulthood and I'll say mindset is one of them.

A lot actually does change, our mindset, trying to make the best of ourselves and time, money matter too. But as a child, we had less burden then, not much to think of

True, childhood was free of worries and responsibilities. 🥲

Exactly! At times when I see my cousin and niece playing around with a stress-free mindset, I'll just smile and join them sometimes...it always feels good to feel like them once in a while

That's a good way to relive the moments of no worries, watching or playing with kids.
I don't even see kids playing around these days.

Yes ooo. It's always a beautiful moment. I also see them when they come around

Especially during holidays, right?
