En un momento te provoca ir a comer algo dulce en una panadería que te gusta mucho, y luego, estando en el lugar en cuestión, ves unos productos que te llama la atención. No ibas teniéndolo en mente, pero estos productos se meten en ella. Están dispuestos muy cerca de la entrada, por lo que es casi imposible no notarlos. Colocados en unos pequeños carritos de supermercado dentro de unas elegantes bolsas blancas con visor, son altamente atractivos. Lucen hermosos en sus tres presentaciones: croissant tradicional (sin relleno), croissant relleno de crema de pistacho y croissant relleno de chocolate.
One moment you feel like eating something sweet at a bakery you really like, and then, once you're there, you see some products that catch your eye. You weren't thinking about them, but they pop into your mind. They're displayed very close to the entrance, so it's almost impossible not to notice them. Placed in small shopping carts inside elegant white bags with windows, they are highly attractive. They look beautiful in their three presentations: traditional croissant (without filling), croissant filled with pistachio cream, and croissant filled with chocolate.
Suelo visitar algunas panaderías, pero es la primera vez que veo croissant en estas presentaciones y siendo vendidos por kilo. Con la curiosidad despierta, los tomé y me pareció que el precio era accesible, tomando en cuenta que vienen en paquetes de cinco o seis unidades y se pueden adquirir a partir de unos $2.30 en adelante (croissant sin relleno). Si bien ese día no pude adquirirlos porque no tenía el efectivo disponible, pasados un par de días volví a la panadería La Fragatta, ubicada en Lechería, para comprar un paquete de croissant rellenos de crema de pistacho. Son ricos y especiales para una tarde dulce. Los compré para llevar y en casa pude disfrutar de esta deliciosa mezcla. Los recomiendo ampliamente.
I often visit bakeries, but this was the first time I had seen croissants presented in this way and sold by the kilo. My curiosity piqued, I bought some and found the price reasonable, considering that they come in packs of five or six and can be purchased for around $2.30 or more (unfilled croissants). Although I couldn't buy them that day because I didn't have the cash available, a couple of days later I returned to La Fragatta bakery, located in Lechería, to buy a package of croissants filled with pistachio cream. They are delicious and perfect for a sweet afternoon treat. I bought them to take home and enjoyed this delicious combination once I got there. I highly recommend them.
Días después, ya declarada fan de estos croissants, volví a la panadería para comprar los croissants tradicionales, pues tenía un gran antojo de comerlos con un relleno salado. Los llevé a casa y los serví con jamón ahumado, tomates secos que preparé con antelación y que tenía conservados en aceite y también agregué queso guayanés, un queso blanco blando muy popular aquí en Venezuela. Esta combinación fue explosiva, una carga de sabor exquisita, los sabores me dieron más de lo que podía esperar.
A few days later, having already declared myself a fan of these croissants, I returned to the bakery to buy the traditional croissants, as I had a strong craving to eat them with a savory filling. I took them home and served them with smoked ham, sun-dried tomatoes that I had prepared in advance and preserved in oil, and I also added Guayanés cheese, a soft white cheese that is very popular here in Venezuela. This combination was explosive, an exquisite burst of flavor, and the flavors gave me more than I could have hoped for.
Me declaro fan de estos croissants y debo volver para comprar los que vienen rellenos de chocolate, es el único sabor que me falta por probar de esta maravillosa tríada dulce. Estos croissants son una excelente alternativa para llevar a un compartir entre amigos y si los llevas a casa puedes rellenarlos con lo que más te guste, incluso los que ya vienen rellenos pueden aceptar sabores adicionales, por ejemplo, puedes agregar chocolate al croissant relleno de crema de pistacho, esto elevaría su sabor exponencialmente.
I am a fan of these croissants and must return to purchase the chocolate-filled ones, as it is the only flavor I have yet to try from this wonderful sweet trio. These croissants are an excellent option to bring to share with friends, and if you take them home, you can fill them with whatever you like. Even the ones that come filled can be enhanced with additional flavors. For example, you can add chocolate to a croissant filled with pistachio cream, which would elevate its flavor exponentially.
Estos descubrimientos foodie me encantan. La preparación del croissant ocupa muchísimo trabajo e ingredientes, así que tener esta oferta a la mano, tan bien presentada y deliciosa, es una genial oportunidad para poder disfrutar de un excelente alimento a un buen precio.
