Would I go back to pay the right amount? It depends heavily on a few things.

  1. If it's a random place in a city I'm just visiting ... most likely not.
  2. If it's a well known place in my city, where I'm a regular, most likely, but it depends on the quality of their services. If I am not satisfied how I am served, then .. I don't see why I should.

I'm kind of talented in guessing the final amount of the bill, so kinda know what to expect and if it's not something close, then ...

        It was a restaurant in our town. This was the second time we have been there in a time frame of a year or so. Maybe 6 months. We probably will go there only on occasion, max once per year.
        The service wasn't bad. They were friendly and did what they had to do :)

        I always forget taking picture of the food. I don't want to be sitting with my iphone in sight, because then the sons would think that they can do the same. And we all know that they are easily distracted. So I just try to enjoy the moment to the max.

              The truth is, as a parent, you had a moral obligation to show your kids the right thing to do and I can fully understand your wife's firm decision.

              Will they do the same in a similar situation? Probably not as that money would be extra pocket money for them, but at least you know you did what you could.
