I do not post many foodie posts this month because of Ramadhan month. Everyone are fasting here, so I limit myself on sharing my food posts. However today is the last fasting day, so I guess it is ok for me to start sharing food posts again.
I have too many drafts and I even do not have any clue which I should post it first. So I will try to do the opposite, sharing the posts that I do not have a good experience from the occasion. Similar to the last bread post I have recently shared before.
Few weeks ago I visited this Rumah Makan Masakan Padang, or in english it is translated as Padang Cuisine Restaurant. Usually we call this one as Nasi Padang Outlet, because we like to put NASI (RICE) in our dish. I have seen this restaurant for the last several months, so they are not recently opened anyway.
This Nasi Padang outlet is located in Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, one of exclusive areas outskirt Jakarta. I dared myself to try this one because from their decoration, I believed this one should be a budget food outlet.
The decoration was too plain, no eye catching stuffs at all. The coloring was completing wrong. A Nasi Padang outlet must have a bright strong colors, usually they use Yellow, Red or Orange. You can reconfirm this by googling with the keyword "Nasi Padang Restaurant Color". However this one went differently, they used blue with some red as the color accent.
When I entered the outlet, everything was dark there. I thought they tried to reduce their operation expense by turned off some of their light. How on earth I could see what food I would pick that time, I could only identify them without knowing how their actually look was...
The funny thing was, I was not the only one eating in. They had several customers inside. I was too lazy to cover that person face, but I believed he had the same thought as mine. What the hell was this all about, turning off most of their light.
This was my dish. I had difficulty taking this picture, and I had to use night mode. I believed it was rude to turn on my flash camera regarding it would call all attention from other people there.
I would not complain about the price, they put a quite high one almost $2, around 1.75 USD. The other place would charge me around 4-5 USD, and maybe next week I would share one of them who charge on that price. This was on a semi resort area, so expect everything was above normmal price.
Oh ya about the food. I ordered fried chicken with potato fritter. The size was good, as you could see that the potato fritter was a big one not some lame small one. The texture was good, they were not overcooked or reheated one. However the taste was awful, I got a hunch that they tried to save up some spices and seasonings.
It's too bad the taste was below my standard. Else I might frequently come in there because it was hard to get any lunch below $2 there. Well there were some cheaper one on construction yard areas, but I could not eat there because It would ruin my shoes.
