It's great to hear you were able to grow them so well. The colour and size look fantastic. The only way to do it here in winter is in a greenhouse, or with a good light system at home. :)
You're right, the way of planting there must be a little different, especially during that time of year with extreme cold.
I believe it must be a bit more challenging to plant like that.
