I thought today that nowadays walking through a forest or meadow, you can’t often see wild animals although I remember the times when herds of wild boars ran across the forest road when I was riding my bike there I saw badgers and foxes red deer but now this is becoming a great rarity.
It is not often that you think about whether there is any chance of seeing this or that animal in the wild and it is not a fact that those animals that are of no interest to us will not disappear one day as, for example in cities you can very rarely see sparrows which as if by magic have disappeared from cities although they used to be everywhere.
Everyone is at risk of extinction because the chemicals that farmers use for example spare no one neither insects nor birds nor mammals.
Today I want to present you with photographs of one animal protected in our country which you know well and it is a hedgehog.
This small animal is an active predator that is an orderly that regulates the populations of many rodents and snakes harmful to human economic activity insect larvae and other pests.
And the hedgehog has an excellent appetite moreover the hedgehog does not have such a concept as satiety and will eat as much as it is offered which makes it a powerful assistant to man.
The photographs that you see were taken by me on the edge of a small village where hedgehogs feel very comfortable because there are always a lot of rodents near the satays with grain and there are a lot of snakes in the neighboring swamps.
I managed to photograph the hedgehog from a close distance when he stopped being afraid of me and opened his ball.
It would seem that what could threaten hedgehogs, but for me it was a strange discovery to learn that some people in some cultures use hedgehogs as food ... very strange, maybe then it would be better to catch a pigeon? If so hungry lol.
I do not know how a person can raise his hand and kill such a beautiful creature which well does not compare with what can be called food value.
In addition to humans hedgehogs have other enemies such as dogs wolves foxes and domestic cats.
And at a young age hedgehogs are generally defenseless their needles are soft and will become hard only with time.
That day I saw a whole family of hedgehogs who were making the rounds of their hunting grounds.
Yes, I must say that a hedgehog is one of those animals that is better not to take into your hands since it is a carrier of rabies and close contact with it can be fraught with unpleasant fatal consequences.
Psb hedgehogs are running somewhere further from us lol.
