Today, I revisited the Food Place food court, located at Pavilion Mall. The food court is located beside the Oriental Kopi Restaurant. It is time to try another stall.
This time, I ordered the Teriyaki beef patties set from the Mr Peppery rice stall, which cost RM19.90 per plate.

The set comes complete with steamed rice and miso soup, making it a hearty, balanced meal with strong teppan-style appeal.
This dish draws inspiration from Japanese hambāgu (hamburg steak), a Western-influenced Japanese comfort food consisting of seasoned minced meat patties served without a bun. Hambāgu became popular in Japan in the late 19th century after being adapted from Hamburg-style steak introduced through Western cuisine, eventually evolving into one of Japan’s most beloved home-style dishes. Teriyaki versions are a modern variation, pairing the meat patties with Japan’s iconic sweet soy glaze.
What makes this version stand out is the teppan presentation—the sizzling hot plate keeps the patties warm throughout the meal while lightly charring the vegetables and sauce, adding a smoky edge to the sweetness of the teriyaki.
