Yesterday, I went to Atria Shopping Gallery for a job interview. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job. Since I am here, I decided to have lunch at Esquire Kitchen. It has a cosy and clean interior with warm lighting and wooden panel accents on the walls. The space is well-ventilated with a high ceiling and a grid-patterned design that gives a traditional yet modern Chinese ambience. Round tables with simple chairs suggest a casual, family-friendly environment. The open kitchen counter and neatly organised drinks section add a practical, canteen-style touch.

After looking at the menu, I ordered their Yang Chow style fried rice lunch set. The Lunch Set consist of Yang Chow-style fried rice, featuring fragrant long-grain rice stir-fried with shrimp, egg, chopped long beans, and bits of char siu (Chinese BBQ pork), served with a side of shredded lettuce and tomato. It comes with a warm bowl of red bean soup (also called "Hong Dou Tang" in Mandarin), a classic Chinese sweet dessert and a cup of hot Chinese tea,

Yang Chow fried rice (扬州炒饭) originates from Yangzhou, a city in Jiangsu province, China. It was popularised during the Qing Dynasty and is renowned for its colourful ingredients and balance of flavours. Traditionally, it includes shrimp, barbecued pork, eggs, and vegetables, all stir-fried with rice that has been chilled to achieve the ideal texture. Today, it's one of the most famous fried rice styles served in Chinese restaurants worldwide.
