Hi friends,
This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @thesocalhive where we share an aspect of our California.
Being in the Los Angeles area is a big advantage when wanting to eat one of my favorite types of food - Mexican food :) One of my favorite things to eat at Mexican restaurants is a side called Chiles Toreados, which is a blistered chili (typically Serrano) with spices, and usually comes in a side order of three. Being a big fan, I decided to try to make some myself at home - here was my result:
They came out OK, but not as good as most of my favorite spots. I added some soy and lime juice to my sauté pan, and I think I overdid it on the lime juice as it was a bit tart for my taste.
Guess I can try again - the peppers are super cheap at the market!
Thanks for coming by and checking out a piece of my California.
Brian
