Hey, hey, hey! What's up, Hivers? It's me @makiyumee and I am back again with another blog to share! Today's blog will be how I celebrated Medellin's fiesta with none other than, of course, my precious and lovely friends! So, sit back, relax and read this blog at your own pace hihi!

It was a very sunny morning that day and I was on my way to the campus to work on our action research. I had already messaged my groupmates that day that we should be at the campus early so that we can also finish our goal for the day early than the planned time. When I arrived at the campus, I was quick enough to borrow a booth from our librarian and work on our action research on the computer there. It wasn't long with my groupmates came and we worked on the task together.

When we were done for the day, it was already around 4 pm when I met my friends outside the library. They were gathered as if they were talking about something important in hushed voices and as someone who gets alerted so easily, I tiptoed towards them and ducked my head like I was some special agent. When I got closer, I asked them in a whisper, "What's going on? Why are you all hunched up like this and forming a circle in the middle of the hallway?" Their faces looked so priceless when they realized that they were in the middle of the hallway.

So we moved somewhere outside the campus and continued talking. I learned that they were planning on having a little party because that day was the bisperas of Medellin's fiesta. The plan was to grill some meat and have dinner together at our friend's house, after that we will tour around the center of Medellin together. So, we set the plan to motion. We wen to the market to buy the ingredients for grilled meat. We also bought rice and the soft drinks that we like to pair it with the food.

After buying all the things that we need, I helped set up the charcoals and the grill that would be used in cooking. I heated the coals until it was burning hot and just in time the meat was already seasoned and ready to be grilled. We grilled the meat and took turns on watching it to avoid getting it burned. The aroma of the meat while being grilled made me so hungry and I really couldn't wait to eat with my friends that day.

Soon, the meats were finally cooked and my friend chopped them to bits that were enough for us to bite and swallow. I took out the soft drinks from the freezer and served them while my other friend served the steaming rice on the dining table. The smell of the food really made me salivate and so did my friends. After praying, all of us began to eat and I couldn't help but praise my friend for doing a good job at seasoning the meat because it really turned out so well.

We ate together while listening to each other as we shared our plans for the that night. I learned that there were a lot of food stalls, mini games and even Ukay-ukayan that night because of the upcoming fiesta. We planned to visit them all after dinner since we still had enough time before me and my friends go home and end the day.

We savored each bite of the grilled meat and each sip of Coca-Cola made the meal even more scrumptious. I know it is not healthy but I just really love to pair grilled meat with some cola. It was really the best pair for me and I know that my friends would agree too. After eating, some of my friends cleaned the table and the whole area while I offered to wash the dishes along with my other friend. It did not take long until we were done cleaning.

Soon, we found ourselves exiting my friend's house and walking through the crowded streets of Medellin. My friend was not lying when she said that there would be a lot of stalls that night because there were really a lot. Each side of the road was packed with stalls that sold foods, clothes and toys, and even kitchen utensils. It was a variety of products but what caught our attention was the ice cream stall near Medellin Complex. We found ourselves buying ice cream for dessert and I was really happy with my choice.

I thought the ice cream was expensive but turns out, it was really affordable for students like us. For 30 pesos, our cup was already full of ice cream, toppings and flavored syrup. We even got to choose the flavor that we like. When our cups got empty, our next stop was the photobooth. We took photos together with different accessories and I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous we looked at some of our photos. We did some wacky faces and poses, I was glad the photos turned out alright in the end.

It did not take long enough for our photos to be printed. Although we were a bit disappointed because of how the hardcopy turned a bit dark, the softcopy of the photo was actually good. Looking at the photo on my phone made me smile because this was another remembrance of my days as a college student. The photos not only held that certain moment but it was also giving me that warm feeling because my friends were they and they were the ones that made my college life bearable and unforgettable.

After the photobooth, we continued to stroll around the town center to see more stalls before we head home for the day. That would be all for this blog and I hope you all had fun reading it. I'll see you all on the next one!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!.gif
