Fabulous Day, Hivers! Hope y'll doing well! First, I would like to thank you all for putting your spare time reading my first blog. It may be far from perfect but I hope you find it interesting. Today, I come to realize that the saying "First steps are always the hardest" is true. To be honest I don't see myself coming to this point. Hence, as time goes by I realize there are a lot of thoughts in my mind that I would like to share through writing.
Well, enough of dramatic introduction and let’s go ahead to the real one. My name is Elaine Anlap Castañeda. I am the youngest of two siblings. I have an older sister. I am a Libra, born on the 11th of October. I consider myself an ambivert I love being around people who have the same vibe as me and sometimes I have to be alone to recharge my social battery. I am twenty-seven years young. I have a degree in Human Resource Management but am a Call Center Associate by choice.
As a daughter
Growing up as the youngest child in the family. I have a whim for being a spoiled brat and I always get what I want. My parents own a business that gives us a comfortable life. I was a mischievous child and loved to play pranks with other people which caused me trouble. As I grow older I always get comments that I am the total opposite of my sister. I was being compared to anyone’s children because of my attitude and, it caused me a lot of resentment toward those people who kept on comparing me.
During my college days due to my natural nature as a Libra, I was being indecisive as to what degree I would take. I started taking a Business Administration Major in Marketing because of our family business. I want to help my parents after I graduate but I only finish one semester. I shifted to Medical Technology because most of my cousins are taking medical courses and I want to be one as well. I ended up completing four semesters only because I found it difficult until I decided to quit college. I thought college wasn’t for me and my parents decided to send me to my sister in Manila.
I was eighteen years old when my parents sent me to Manila where I started my journey as a Call Center Representative. I was young and optimistic and I wanted to prove myself to my parents and other people in our province who kept underestimating my capabilities I applied to one of the biggest companies in Manila. I stayed there for two years until I had enough savings and went back to our province in Negros.
After how years of working without any promotions even though I have enough experience and skills I lack the credentials to back up my work experience I decided to go back to college. I finish my degree in Human Resource Management. I was promoted to Operations Supervisor the same year I graduated.
My Hobbies
During my teenage years, I spent most of my spare time playing billiards, swimming, playing computer games, and hanging out with my friends. As time passed by I developed new hobbies such as traveling, coffee shop hopping, and reading books that helped to put my mind at ease.
I also love spending my rest days staying at home and doing nothing or watching Netflix series the entire day. I also enjoyed eating alone in my favorite restaurant or watching movies in a cinema. Or just simply doing window shopping at the mall.
Why am I Here?
Well, I don’t know as well. Just kidding aside. Hive was introduced by one of my colleagues @heyitsjian in one of our random conversations. I got curious at first and at the same time interested because I learned that I could earn money by posting blogs. Hence, after attending our Hive Orientation I came to a realization that it isn’t about earning something out of your blogs. Nonetheless, it is all about sharing what you love to do with other people in the community.
I am truly grateful to @heyitsjian for introducing me to this platform. Also to @intoy.bugoy and @chimegipamis for helping us know the rules and regulations and, the do’s and don’t in the community.
I personally love to take random pictures if I am traveling to places. I love to create travel itineraries and because of that, I would like to share them with the community. Above all, I came across to the realization as you grow older there are a lot of thoughts you would like to share with other people. I am grateful that this platform was introduced to me because I found a new hobby where I can put some of my spare time as well.
What Can Hive Expect From Me?
Joining Hive made me realize that I am capable of expressing myself through writing. Composing my thoughts is one of my weaknesses. I don’t even see myself coming to this point. Nevertheless, sharing my thoughts and experiences made me excited about this new unknown.
Writing my first blog made me realize that I can do more than I used to do. It amplifies my imagination and it indulges me in sharing my thoughts, experiences, and ideas with the community. Be certain that I will be sharing more of my travels, experiences, thoughts, and all the adventures to come in my life. I look forward to tell you all about myself.
Cheers!
