Here's my entry for BeerSaturday 453 in collaboration with Boréale and BreWskey. I was doing my grocery shopping before a week with my family in a cottage in the Laurentians, and I saw this NEIPA, Professor Yang. I couldn't resist 😀.
Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 453 avec une collaboration entre Boréale et BreWskey. J'étais en train de faire mon épicerie avant une semaine en famille dans un chalet dans les Laurentides, j'ai vu cette NEIPA, Professeur Yang. Je n'ai pas pu résister 😀.

I've been featuring beers from this brewery for several years now, and I'm rarely disappointed. As a reminder, BreWskey was founded in 2015 by Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud, and Derrick Robertson. As is typical of this brewing venture, it's a group of friends passionate about beer and whisky, hence the name. They started by opening a taproom in Old Montreal at the BonSecours Market, and since 2019 they've been brewing their own beers, mainly IPAs.
Cela fait plusieurs que je présente des bières de cette brasserie que j'apprécie, rarement déçu. Pour rappel, BreWskey a été fondée en 2015 par Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud et Derrick Robertson. Comme toujours dans cette aventure brassicole, c'est un groupe d'amis passionnés de bières et de whisky d'où le nom. Ils ont commencé par lancer une taproom dans le Vieux Montréal au Marché BonSecours et depuis 2019 ils brassent leurs propres bières, surtout des IPA.
🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
Professor Yang is a New England IPA with 7% ABV, hopped with Nelson Sauvin (Nelson Sauvin hop kief), Citra, Nectaron and Simcoe. It's a beer from the Episode series by Boréale, one of the largest breweries in Canada. These are exclusive beers brewed only once. I wasn't familiar with it, so I'm very happy to have stumbled upon it.
In the glass, it has the characteristic appearance of a NEIPA: a hazy mango color with a light white head.
On the palate, there's a lovely tropical fruit flavor with a rich, somewhat "vinous" finish thanks to the Nelson Sauvin and especially its hop kief variant. During the winter, I really love this type of beer—rich and velvety. Perfect after a day braving the cold.
La Professeur Yang est une New England IPA avec 7% d'alcool houblonnée avec Nelson Sauvin (Nelson Sauvin hop kief), Citra, Nectaron et Simcoe. Il s'agit d'une bière de la série Episode de Boréale, un des plus gros brasseurs au Canada. Ce sont des bières exclusives brassées une seule fois. Je ne connaissais pas, bien content d'être tombé dessus.
Dans le verre, on retrouve la robe caractéristique d'une NEIPA, couleur mangue troublée avec une mousse blanche légère.
En bouche, on a une belle saveur de fruits tropicaux avec une finale riche assez "vineuse" dû au Nelson Sauvin et surtout sa variante hop kief. Pendant l'hiver, j'adore vraimet ce type de bière, riche et velouté. Parfait après une journée à affronter le froid.
Design
Even though it's a beer produced by Boréale for their Episode series, my eye was immediately drawn to that slightly crazy professor who often appears on Brewskey cans. Easy to recognize...
Même si c'est une bière produite par Boréale pour sa série Episode, mon regard a été de suite attiré par ce professeur un peu fou qu'on retrouve souvent sur les canettes de BreWskey. Facile à reconnaitre...
