Here is my contribution to BeerSaturday 432 with the beer I tasted during my weekend in Mont Tremblant on my hotel balcony (see Wednesday Walk: Grand Lodge Mont Tremblant). It's Atlantique, a NEIPA brewed by the Boldwin brewery in Quebec, near Montreal.
Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 432 avec ma bière dégustée lors de mon weekend au Mont Tremblant sur le balcon de mon hôtel (voir Wednesday Walk : Grand Lodge Mont Tremblant). Il s'agit de l'Atlantique, une NEIPA brassée pa la brasserie Boldwin au Québec, tout près de Montréal.

This is the fifth beer I am presenting from this brewery specializing in organic beers. As a reminder, Boldwin was founded in 2016 by Daleyne Guay, Jean-François Giguère, Isabelle Théroux, and Olivier Thomann with the idea of producing socially responsible, organic craft beer with Ecocert and B Corp certification. Boldwin uses organically grown grains from Quebec and is brewed by the Collectif brassicole Ensemble in Boucherville.
C'est la cinquième bière que je présente de cette brasserie spécialisée dans les bières biologique. Pour rappel, Boldwin a été fondé en 2016 par Daleyne Guay, Jean-François Giguère, Isabelle Théroux et Olivier Thomann avec l'idée de produire une bière artisanale socialement responsable et bio avec la certification Ecocert puis B Corp. Boldwin utilise des céréales cultivées biologiquement au Québec et brassée par le Collectif brassicole Ensemble à Boucherville.
🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
Atlantique is a NEIPA with 5.6% alcohol and an IBU of 35, hopped with Cascade, Centennial, Bravo, Sabro, Mosaic, El Dorado, and Simcoe. This is the first time I've seen so many different hops in a beer. I'm not enough of an expert to know whether this is a good thing or not. Any thoughts ?
In the glass, we have a beautiful, fairly cloudy orange-yellow color topped with a white, abundant head. It has a fairly creamy body, perhaps less so than a traditional NEIPA. On the palate, there are distinct tropical fruit aromas with a floral note. The slightly salty finish gives it a seaside feel. For this reason, the name is well chosen.
This NEIPA stands out with an aromatic profile that is different from other beers of its kind. But a good beer that I enjoyed while watching the sun set over Lake Ouimet.
L'Atlantique est une NEIPA avec 5.6% d'alcool et un IBU de 35 houblonnée avec du Cascade, Centennial, Bravo, Sabro, Mosaic, El Dorado et Simcoe. C'est la première fois que je vois autant de houblons différents dans une bière. Je ne suis pas assez expert pour savoir si cela est une bonne chose ou non. Des avis ?
Dans le verre, nous avons une belle robe jaune orangée assez troublée surmontée d'une mousse blanche et abondante. Elle présente un corps assez crémeux, peut-être moins qu'une NEIPA traditionnelle. En bouche, on sent bien les arômes de fruits tropicaux avec une note florale. On sent le coté bord de mer sur la finale légèrement salée. Le nom est bien trouvé.
Cette NEIPA se distingue avec un profil aromatique différent de ce genre de bière. Bonne bière que j'ai apprécié en regardant le soleil se coucher sur le Lac Ouimet.
Design
At Boldwin, the design always follows the same format: a light background with a poetic illustration surrounded by essential information. On the back, there is more information about the hops used and a short text describing the beer. But is it really a whale? 😀
Chez Boldwin, le design a toujours le même format : un fond clair avec une illustration avec une touche poétique entourée des informations essentielle. Au dos, on retrouve plus d'information avec les houblons utilisés et un court texte présentant la bière. Mais est-ce vraiment une baleine ? 😀
