A new Japanese restaurant has opened! It’s a real treat for us—it’s just a five-minute walk away. We’d seen ads for it in flyers and online, and it looked like a great place—Royal Sushi—so we were curious. We decided to try it out together with our friend Andrea and his friend Marco, and we certainly weren't disappointed! From the outside, it looked like a simple—even a bit run-down—restaurant, but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, right?

Tenía antojo de comida japonesa y, como justo al lado de nuestra casa...
¡Ha abierto un nuevo restaurante japonés! Es una maravilla para nosotros, ya que está a solo cinco minutos a pie. Habíamos visto anuncios en folletos y en internet, y parecía un sitio estupendo —Royal Sushi—, así que sentíamos curiosidad. Decidimos probarlo junto con nuestro amigo Andrea y su amigo Marco, ¡y desde luego no nos decepcionó! Por fuera parecía un restaurante sencillo —incluso un poco descuidado—, pero ya se sabe que no hay que juzgar un libro por su portada, ¿verdad?
But the real surprise awaited us inside: a restaurant that exuded luxury the moment we entered the vast lobby, with its soaring ceilings featuring magnificent light installations and towering walls—a truly elegant space. We didn't have to wait long before being shown to a table in one of the five dining rooms! It is a truly massive and stunning restaurant; it reminded me of grand cruise ships or the luxury dining rooms seen in movies. The soaring walls were beautifully adorned with bottles, illuminated panels, and large light structures resembling trees of light; there were plush red and blue sofas, trees, bonsai, mirrors, and countless decorations that looked like modern art—especially the ceiling features, which were breathtaking, like cascades of light or glass. Honestly, I think it is the most beautiful Japanese restaurant I have ever seen—a spectacular display of beauty and opulence!
Pero la verdadera sorpresa nos aguardaba en el interior: un restaurante que destilaba lujo desde el momento en que entrábamos en su inmenso vestíbulo, con techos altísimos adornados con magníficas instalaciones lumínicas y paredes imponentes; un espacio verdaderamente elegante. ¡No tuvimos que esperar mucho para que nos condujeran a una mesa en uno de los cinco comedores! Es un restaurante enorme e impresionante; me recordó a los grandes cruceros o a los lujosos comedores que se ven en las películas. Las altísimas paredes estaban bellamente decoradas con botellas, paneles iluminados y grandes estructuras de luz que parecían árboles luminosos; había lujosos sofás rojos y azules, árboles, bonsáis, espejos e innumerables elementos decorativos que parecían arte moderno, especialmente los detalles del techo, que resultaban sobrecogedores, como cascadas de luz o de cristal. Sinceramente, creo que es el restaurante japonés más hermoso que he visto jamás: ¡un despliegue espectacular de belleza y opulencia!
And let's talk about the important part: the food, right? Like everyone else, they have a huge digital menu featuring a vast array of appetizers, first courses, and main dishes—covering not just Japanese cuisine but also Chinese and Thai options—plus plenty of sushi, sashimi, uramaki, hosomaki, and so on. It was a truly extensive menu; we struggled to choose because we wanted to try everything! In the end, we opted for fairly classic dishes to see if the restaurant's beautiful setting was matched by the quality of the food—especially the fish. We shared impeccably served sashimi (brought out by uniformed waiters), various types of sushi and hosomaki (all delicious), tartare, fish carpaccio, dumplings, spring rolls, and various kinds of ravioli filled with meat, vegetables, or fish, as well as some chicken and beef main courses. Honestly, everything was excellent quality. If I had to point out a flaw—though I suspect it was just because they had recently opened and were packed—there was a bit of confusion with the orders, and they forgot a few dishes. Still, we had a wonderful time, and the price wasn't as high as we’d imagined; it was pretty standard, much like other restaurants. It’s a truly beautiful place, and we’ve already decided to come back—this time for a date night!
Y hablemos de lo importante: la comida, ¿verdad? Al igual que otros sitios, cuentan con un amplio menú digital que ofrece una gran variedad de aperitivos, entrantes y platos principales —abarcando no solo cocina japonesa, sino también opciones chinas y tailandesas—, además de una gran selección de sushi, sashimi, uramaki, hosomaki, etcétera. Era un menú realmente extenso; ¡nos costó decidirnos porque queríamos probarlo todo! Al final, optamos por platos bastante clásicos para comprobar si la calidad de la comida —especialmente la del pescado— estaba a la altura del precioso entorno del restaurante. Compartimos un sashimi servido de forma impecable (traído a la mesa por camareros uniformados), varios tipos de sushi y hosomaki (todos deliciosos), tartar, carpaccio de pescado, dumplings, rollitos de primavera y diversas variedades de raviolis rellenos de carne, verdura o pescado, además de algunos platos principales de pollo y ternera. Sinceramente, todo era de excelente calidad. Si tuviera que señalar algún fallo —aunque sospecho que se debió a que acababan de abrir y el local estaba abarrotado—, diría que hubo algo de confusión con los pedidos y se olvidaron de algunos platos. Aun así, lo pasamos de maravilla y el precio no fue tan elevado como imaginábamos; resultó bastante estándar, similar al de otros restaurantes. Es un lugar realmente hermoso y ya hemos decidido volver; ¡esta vez para una cita romántica!
