Of the dozens of times I have gone with my wife to eat or stroll around Los Aviadores shopping mall in the city of Maracay, I had never tasted anything as sweet as yesterday. Whenever we've walked through the food court evaluating options, the winner is usually savory food; we rarely opt for sweet things. So this time we decided to try what H2OKATE has to offer, a name that is a play on words for avocado, quite creative if I'm honest.

Milkshakes and frappés are the house specialty. There are dozens of different fruits and combinations, as well as cakes, drinks, and even some Japanese dishes. I found it interesting that after ordering, you can watch them prepare the drinks right in front of you. It's remarkable that they use quite sophisticated equipment and that everything looks very clean. We ordered a strawberry frappuccino with whipped cream and a chocolate cake. I must say that after we placed our order, I felt a little guilty about what was coming. I knew it was quite high in calories and sugar, but it's not something we eat very often.

Now, the verdict on what we ordered is perhaps the chronicle of a foregone conclusion. On the one hand, the chocolate cake, which cost $3.50, was good, but had much more sugar than we would have liked; on the other hand, the Frappuccino melted very quickly, and by the time it reached us, it was practically a strawberry milkshake. We were also disappointed by the taste of the whipped cream; I don't think we've ever tasted anything so bad. The strawberry Frappuccino cost $5.50. After consuming what we had bought, we were left with a feeling of regret. We felt that we had overdone it with the sugar and were disappointed with the Frappuccino. We definitely expected more.

To try to counteract the effect of the sweets, we walked for a couple of hours through the entire shopping mall. The idea was to burn as much energy as possible to reduce the negative effects of what we had eaten. We ended the night quite tired from the long walk, but we learned that next time we should be smarter about the sweets we buy, we definitely shouldn't exaggerate.
