INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Boiled potato 8-10
  • Tomato 1 chopped
  • Green chilli 2
  • Ginger 1/4 inch
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Hing one pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Black salt 1 pinch
  • Tumeric powder 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 4 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Dey mango powder 1/2 tsp
  • kasuri methi 1/2 tsp
  • green coriander for garnish

PROCESS ✅

STEP 1 :

First boil the potato.

Peal off the skin of the boiled potato .

Cut in the pieces like this . Don’t cut in small pieces otherwise while making curry they become massy.

On the other side cut the tomato and chilli finely, and grate the ginger.

STEP 2 :

Now in a kadai heat the oil , you can use mustard oil . When the oil gets hot add cumin seeds . When seeds start to crackle add curry leaves and hing .

Add tomato , chilli and ginger in it .
Saute for 1 minute on the low flame and stir well .

Now add all spices in it . Add water in it . When there is a boil the water , add cut potato. Now cook for 2-3 minutes and at the last add garam masala , dry mango powder and kasuri methi .

Cover with the lid and cook for 1 min more .
Turn off the flame and garnish for green coriander.

Your potato curry is ready to enjoy.

hmmm... why tomomato - potato curry you call this - there is just one tomato used while 8 potatoes are used... it must be super spicy - 2 chillis - 3 teasppon red chilli powerder and garam masala! hmmm... anyway. Love reading food blog stuff, I am sure this is tasty but too spicy for older adults I guess. Why do you add black salt, it gives a twist... I forgot how black salt tastes!

Because at our home sometimes we prepared it with tomatoe and some time without tomato… when the tomato is add we called it aloo tamatar curry…it’s not too spicy , otherwise it’s depend on person to person … black salt gives it a twist . Sometimes we also add clove while adding cumin seeds 😅
