Onion rings are a real treat, though I’d already made them breaded before. In this recipe, everything is simpler—you don’t have to bread them one by one, but in batches—and unlike the other recipe where I used egg, all-purpose flour, and breadcrumbs, I only used all-purpose flour and spices. I found this recipe online, but I made some adjustments to the seasoning, quantity, and type of oil. The batches were fried in plenty of seed oil, but I preferred to cook them almost like they were grilled, using olive oil. This recipe is simple, quick, and comes in handy. I hope you like it.
Ingredients
- 1 onion (130 g)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
1.- Peel the onion, wash it, and slice it.

2.- Carefully separate the onion rings and season them with salt to taste. Set aside.

3.- In a pot, add one cup of wheat flour and season with salt and pepper to taste, as well as paprika and cumin.

4.-. Combine the dry ingredients, add the water, and mix again until you have a light batter, similar to pancake batter. Adjust the salt to taste.

5.-. Add the onion rings to the pot and stir to coat them thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture.

6.-. Preheat a skillet, add the olive oil and the onion rings, and cook until golden brown on both sides, then remove from the heat. Repeat the process until all the mixture is used up.

We served the onion rings, and I served them with some parsley cream I had in the fridge.
