Hi all, it's a rainy Sunday here in my place and I hope everybody is well. Today is God's day and here I am wanted to share some story about fruit. Honestly, this is not my favorite fruit but I want to write something about this cause it is so nutritious and you can find this in different countries across Asia, Middle East and America. By the way, I am @cbaguio1991 and this is my 3rd blog for the week. I am a little bit excited to impart some information regarding this kind of fruit for I know this is not available to some countries. So hold on and let me start.
The fruit that I am talking about is called Dragon Fruit. It is said to be part of cactus family and has soft texture with a mild sweetness flavor.
In Philippines, the main season for harvesting this fruit is from May to October and no wonder why this month I see so many stores selling it. From supermarket to public one, there you can see two varieties - the white and the pink one. Actually based on Google there are 4 kinds of dragon fruit but I see two of those. Since it is seasoned, the supply exceeds demand and that's why the price is low. This type of fruit also is full of benefits and so I recommend you guys to try this. This is very rich in vitamin C, antioxidants and has high water content which is excellent for skin's health. Many use this as mask for glowing face.
The picture I am going to attach here is my first dragon fruit taste experience. My co -worker gave this to me because I told him I want to taste it. The story goes like this, in office where the exchange of conversations happened, he said to me that his friend who was from a place where dragon fruit is abundant visited Cebu for that particular time and brought 1 sack of dragon fruit for free. I told him I was not able to taste it yet and he answered me I'll bring 2 and gave it to you so at least you can try. I was a bit excited that time, of course, I was 29 that time and never tasted it yet. So the following day, he fulfill his promised and I was so happy. Since I was very curious I peeled it using my hand only and chop it into not so tiny pieces and slowly it those with salt. Believe me, it tastes better with salt. I can't exactly tell the taste, a little bit sweet and a little sour. It's a sweet and sour combination but I really enjoyed. So to those who has not able to try it, find some now and taste. Just enjoy every bite and the benefits it will bring to your body. We may have different taste buds but pretty sure you will like it.
What are you waiting for? Go to market now and have some. Hehehe
